@ZWyeth @totalcurtis @edrazzall I hope they find a way! Consumption is very different here in comparison to the US though so the answer will also have to be different...and I am still not seeing what it can be in the UK.
@ZWyeth @totalcurtis @edrazzall Honestly I completely understand and was happy to get some at such a low price. But the reality is there - you can find very high quality beer in supermarkets for twice less than bottle shops which makes it increasingly harder to justify the higher price tag in the long run.
@totalcurtis Definitely true. The sector sadly needs to reinvent itself, independence is a hard currency to maintain. Wine did so a while ago and now it's supermarket wine Vs 'elitist' wine venues. Beer is ought to follow a similar path, but it would take many years and many closures...
A little reminder, as non-essential shops reopen today. Your local bottle shop needs you more than ever and will be quite happy to see your (masked) face.
Shout out to our local
@theplumtreebeer
who provided us some Cantillon for the weekend 🙌
I bought that bottle from the defunct Bottleshop just before it shut down....a great memory for a great place I am still happy to have been involved with
One of the best beers I have had in a very long time. @Stillwater_Art 's venture into grape-infused barrel ageing is a triumph and tastes majestic after a year of conditioning at home. See description in thread!
Delicate, subtle notes of orange zest, fennel, slight blackberry supporting a powerful farmhouse nose. It is trying to respond to the new natural wine culture and does it with brio: it is not quite a farmhouse but not a simple wine ersatz. Very much a beer with a unique twist
