Open letter to our Hon’ble CM Sirjee @himantabiswa
Sirjee, today as you take oath to the seat of the Chief Minister of our state #Assam I would like to congratulate you on your astounding victory.
I would like to introduce myself as that common woman whose name you repeatedly uttered during your election stint - Sujata Gurung Chowdhury.
Without knowing anything about me or my life, my food habits, my culture, my religion, my ideology or perhaps even me as a person you called me a “beef eater” a non sanatani, an anti India communist and the works! All because you had a narrative to build, an election to win and some rhetoric that would get you some slapstick moments of glory. Your only connection with me was my daughter contesting the Assam Assembly elections 2026 as a candidate from the opposition alliance #kunkichowdhury
Many asked me to place my clarification on these allegations made by you but I did not at that moment because clarifying before a political hound does not make any sense. Now that you are Chief Minister and as an elected representative of the people you are answerable to me and to the public so this message to you.
Your allegations have been made with malafide intention, it has assassinated my character in public and has been defamatory. Further the photograph that you have publicized of me eating beef is false. This has been clarified by the founder and owner of the museum where this photo was taken at Denver. This matter is of almost no relevance to a Chief Minister and a powerful political leader like you but for me a common man this is life changing, I have not only been defamed in public but the photograph of my minor children being released in public domains have endangered their lives. I have people asking me not to write on social media, not to take photos of my travels, some even pass snide remarks as to whether what I have served them in my home contains beef or not!
What does these matter to you Sirjee, a common man’s life is forever in danger so be his child’s life too. A common man is forever facing snide remarks so be it.
The other allegations of being anti India and a communist, a simple retweeting of an article published in a news portal does not make someone anti India or a terrorist. I have more than 5000 books in my personal library and have read more than half of these, these are books on different cultures, ideologies, personalities of the world with varied opinions and thoughts! Does my reading these books make me an anti India or a terrorist? Well regarding the communist bit as the saying goes, “ if one is not a communist at 25 you do not have a heart and if you are not a capitalist at 35 then you don't have a brain!” And I am 56 now and almost all my writings are of “eons ago,” eons for the uninitiated means “many years ago.”
Hon’ble CM Sirjee today as we leave the election fever behind us and now that you have taken up the mantle and responsibility of the state of Assam and its citizens as it's undisputed leader, I would like to tell you as a common citizen of the country and the state that this country of ours is one where the mind is without fear and the head is held high, where every citizen has the right to live, the right to choose their own religion, culture, their food habits, their ideology and that this country is as much ours as it is yours. You may have won the election and the war of the rhetorics but Sirjee do remember that the battle is still on and will go on as long as the common man like me keeps breathing because it is this breath of the public, the common man that drives your pulse and the pulse of our leaders.
Jai Hind!
Yours sincerely,
Sujata Gurung Chowdhury
A Hindu by birth and culture and not by politics.
NB: Hon’ble CM Sirjee it may be noted that your defamation suit will be for an amount of Rs. 1.00/- (Rupee one only) alongwith a public apology from you.
Vinesh Phogat publicly named Brij Bhushan as a harasser.
She pays the price.
India loves its sex offenders and loves punishing women who report. Rape culture capital.
As people obsess over the West Bengal election results, something far more dangerous is unfolding in Manipur.
Three years later, the #Manipur conflict is no longer just ethnic violence. It has mutated into a complex multi-actor armed conflict involving several insurgent groups, old and new armed organisations and militias, political networks, and countless sophisticated automatic weapons.
I have gone through thousands of FIRs out of over 12,000 registered till last year, along with 14 more from just the last two months. Some of the harshest sections in Indian law have been invoked ... including UAPA and the Explosives Act. And yet, not a single case has seen conviction. I repeat: NOT ONE.
Even in cases where infants and soldiers were brutally killed using explosives and automatic weapons, the state cannot name the accused. FIR after FIR simply reads: “unknown armed miscreants.”
That is how deep the chaos runs in Manipur. Everybody seems to know who is killing whom ... yet nobody can officially prove it.
Today, Manipur is arguably the most heavily armed state in India. Members of insurgent groups from Kuki, Meitei and Naga communities have themselves admitted to me that their “boys” are now also operating on a hired basis at times .. often hired by those with political agendas .. targeting civilians and, occasionally, even security personnel, to keep Manipur burning.
Sources within networks opposed to Myanmar’s military regime have also confirmed to me, with evidence, that since 2023 large consignments of weapons have been routed into Manipur to different armed groups.
Former Union Home Secretary G. K. Pillai tells me: “The government does not want the truth out about who started the Manipur conflict. They created the mess and now have no idea how to solve it.”
My report.

One #KeralaStory from the recent election results that communalists should note: a Muslim majority constituency, Thavanur, elected a Christian, VS Joy; a Hindu majority constituency, Kalamassery, elected a Muslim. VE Abdul Gafoor; and a Christian majority constituency, Kochi, elected a Muslim, Muhammed Shiyas. Despite some influence from the national trends in favour of identity politics, Kerala remains a model of communal harmony, a state where people see human beings first and caste or religion later
@incindia@inckerala
@narendramodi The women's reservation bill was passed in 2023 and there was ample reason to nominate women candidates for the 2024 elections. Did you do that? Guess not. Stop this drama loser
you have to be severely out of touch to think this is ‘naxalism’. she’s saying something most economists know: incomes have simply not caught on with the relentless cost of living in big cities
This video is sick but we must keep sharing it. Make it impossible for him & his supporters to avoid, so those desperately in need ‘evidence’ & fixated on every word & action of survivors must do so here too. Or is citing his own words also defamation?
@SuranaBasant@KunkiCofficial These ancient boomers (men) from the BJP losing their minds over this young woman entering politics just shows how insecure they are. I didn't know 'sorting your own house' was a prerequisite to joining politics. Cus then your party would be empty. Loser
Just before I came here, I had a chat with some of the students. Some students from the 7th grade interacted with me, and I asked them who was their best teacher. And a girl mentioned Alice Ma'am.
Then I asked them why she is a good teacher. They immediately answered that she listens to them, she teaches them with love and affection, she is kind to them, and she allows them to have fun while studying.
Now, if you want to teach somebody or if you want to learn, you need an atmosphere like the one Alice Ma'am has created for the students: one of love, affection and respect and where people can listen to each other and be kind.
That's exactly my fight as well. I too want to help develop an India where people are kind to each other, where people listen to each other and respect their traditions, languages and religions.
