@PeterPrickett@SkillDeveloping Canโt think of many situations since where we had much luck since then. More the opposite:
Maradona handball - 1986
Brehme deflected free kick - 1990
Lampard ghost goal 2010
Drew with Spain โ โฃ
Drew with Uruguay โ โฃ
Didn't lose a game in normal time โ โฃ
Pushed the holders to the limit โ โฃ

Their 2026 adventure is over, but what an incredible first World Cup for Cape Verde! ๐จ๐ป
Many major tournament winners had to beat the host nation en route...
Spain - Germany 2024, Italy - England 2020, Portugal - France 2016, Germany - Brazil 2014, Italy - Germany 2006, Greece - Portugal 2004, Germany - England 1996, Brazil - USA 1994
@England You know what to do..
@Coach_Temisan But are flawed/tarnished in other ways:
McCLaren - England Failure - Not the best in Press conference
Southgate - Not getting over the line with England, lauded for management/culture not tactically.
Howe - No sustained level of success (drop offs season after), Lack of trophies
@Coach_Temisan .... Whereas the other "English" coaches listed aren't.
They are good coaches for various reason:
McCLaren - Winner on the continent, United Assistant,
Southgate - England's Transformation.
Howe - Bournemouth's growth , League Cup with Newcastle, Decent style of play.
