@DaleVince The BBC are currently playing along too as you'd imagine... yes, a tragic and inexcusable murder, but they've said more about the murderer than the police involvement, and nothing of the events preceding what happened.
@orderofthomas@Budfrog@Heccles94 No mate, what is odd is that you're a Nazi. Remember that when you look in your mirror in your "Crusade" cosplay outfit eating your beige ass salted food.
@PaperlessChains@CryptoNomadZ@Zedzies@SpentronSpence dApps aren't disappearing because they failed because they didn't have an oracle. Anyway, its a distraction, charli3's solution was absolutely functional and used. Cardano is simply not a healthy ecosystem.
@Zedzies@PaperlessChains@CryptoNomadZ@SpentronSpence Chainlink is one of 5? 6? 10? Oracles on ETH. And a blockchain is more than defi. But if it is defi, ETH cornered the market. Cardano's USP is more than that.
@PaperlessChains@CryptoNomadZ@Zedzies@SpentronSpence Oracles are not the reason for a diminishing network. Oracles disappearing are a symptom of a network failing to launch.
CH is not responsible for oracles... (maybe acknowledging them) but CH is responsible for a lot more...
@PaperlessChains@CryptoNomadZ@Zedzies@SpentronSpence If Cardano survives we still need global oracle maturity and to understand what is needed, i.e. from leadership; from network parameters; from protocol design; to enable them as infrastructure, that a) enables teams to survive AND b) grow and develop.
@PaperlessChains@CryptoNomadZ@Zedzies@SpentronSpence A lot of Cardano businesses are startups and running a fine line between paying to live and making profit. The maturity isn't there to understand what an oracle costs long-term and how it is offset against the startup's own running costs.
@BlkChainBandit@xphitakhon@astroboysoup > makes some institutions stop and think
be real and name some of those institutions...
Cardano was building a new ecosystem and new institutions the demonstration of strength comes from seeing those flourish... not from inviting hypothetical institutions to an empty network.
@FrugalGamerNet@astroboysoup More than funding, recognition from the upper echelon's of Cardano for both teams could have made a huge difference at multiple stages in our research, development, and productionizing.
@FrugalGamerNet@astroboysoup It's important to recognize we (Orcfax) just took different paths at different times but trying to get to the same goal as Charli3 - and I think that goal (was) multiple viable oracles that dApps could paid for to maintain and build.
