Teenager Adam Murtagh says he is “very grateful” to have been one of the thousands of young people supported by a cross-border body running for four decades, after he became the first person in his family to go to college.
The 19-year-old joined the International Fund for Ireland’s (IFI) Youth Development Programme around three years ago, and says the initiative helped him to avoid getting caught up in the cycle of criminality in his area.
