We are a community organisation advocating for the release of child refugee and asylum seekers on Nauru. We regularly send letters and gifts to the children.
Children’s rights to survive, speak and be heard can’t be given and can’t be taken away. They are inherent and inalienable - something every girl and boy carries with them from birth.
On #WorldChildrensDay, we’re supporting children to demand what they are owed.
By this case, which has become national news, we can clearly see that the debate about people seeking asylum cannot be analysed in a purely political perspective. It is sadism and sickness. That's it. Nothing else.
A Melbourne judge has granted a last-minute interim injunction to stop a family of four Tamil asylum seekers from being deported to Sri Lanka. https://t.co/MBZTaYkSeP #hometobilo
I trust all the men of faith who have been aggressively prosecuting the value of life and preciousness of children for the past weeks while we debated reproductive healthcare reform in #NSWpol will be speaking out today to bring Priya, Nades and their girls #hometobilo
The PM @ScottMorrisonMP must obey the injunction granted by an Australian court preventing the deportation of the #HomeToBilo family. The family is still in Australian airspace so the court order is binding and actionable and plane must land in Darwin or be in contempt of court.
BREAKING: I have just been have told that an injunction has been granted and the plane is due to touch down in Darwin. Hopefully this will be enough to stop them.
Tensions are very high - more police have been called and there are vehicles moving around the tarmac.
I feel like sobbing. This poor family. Those poor traumatised babies. #hometobilo
We are holding cockatoos, which is Priya and Nades’ nicknames for their two little daughters. There are about 70 of us now and people arriving every few minutes. #hometobilo#letthemstay
#BREAKING get down to Melbourne airport to stop Minister Dutton deporting Priya, Nades and girls. They are sitting in seperate vans near a plane. Time for boots on the ground. More details at @HometoBilo#HomeToBilo@sallymcmanus@Craig_Foster please RT
