This mission placed a group of satellites designed for military data transport/relay in low Earth orbit (LEO). The overall Tranche 1 project operates within the framework of the PWSA (Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture) — a low-orbit mesh network connected by optical links (laser inter-satellite links) that provides fast, reliable communications, missile warning and data transmission for military forces. Starship Flight 13 was aborted at T-60 seconds last night (July 16). Some of the Raptor engines failed to fire, triggering an automatic launch abort.
