My closing argument for @phil_lyman over @GovCox

Utah, the choice is simple.

Spencer Cox is unfit to be the governor of Utah. He has the mentality and demeanor of a North Sanpete High student body president and doesn’t comprehend the gravity of the office he holds.

Under his governance, we’ve seen housing, rent, and cost of living in Utah skyrocket. We’ve watched our cities transform into California nightmares, with homeless, criminals, and crazies roaming our streets unchecked.

Our farms and scenery have been plowed over by toxic and inorganic growth, making way for California millionaires and Spencer’s beloved “new Americans,” leaving Utahns holding the bill.

And instead of making life better for the citizens of his state, Spencer Cox chases glossy statistics in US News. He did this for his own ego. And when called out on how badly things are in our cities, his defenders hold up these stats as a shield, screaming at you not to believe your own eyes.

Spencer Cox also believes himself to be a king, anointed from on high. He sees himself as entitled to the governorship and you, his subjects, are obligated to vote for him. When he lost the nomination at the convention, he threw a childish temper tantrum, scolding and insulting the delegates to their faces for their disloyalty.

He then went on what can only be described as a crime spree, utilizing any immoral and illegal tool to steal the nomination he could.

He submitted invalid signatures to con his way into a primary against the rightful nominee, Phil Lyman.

When questioned about this, he deployed his harpy lieutenant governor to scold the public that they must accept the results or be labeled an election denier.

He bribed some poor fool with the same last name as his opponent with a thousand dollars and a steak dinner to register as a write in, with the result being any write in vote with simply “Lyman” on the ballot would be thrown out. (Allegedly.)

When that plan went tits up, pardon my language, and the second Lyman withdrew, he colluded with the media to make it look as if Phil Lyman, not Richard Lyman, had withdrawn. (Allegedly.)

The lieutenant governor sent out an email to every voter about Richard Lyman’s withdrawal, confusing those who did not know that a second Lyman had entered the race, and thus further muddying the waters at polling places.

Ladies and gentlemen, Spencer Cox doesn’t respect your vote.

He doesn’t respect you.

He doesn’t like you.

He places California millionaires and tech companies over you. He’ll do anything the pad his resume so he can look himself in the mirror and tell himself he’s doing such a good job. He will do anything to hold onto the power that even he doesn’t understand.

Phil Lyman, on the other hand, is a proven, selfless fighter.

He was arrested for doing the right thing for Utah.

He has put his entire political career on the line for a write in campaign because it is the right thing to do.

He understands freedom.

He understands government.

He understands Utah.

Phil Lyman is the moral, legal, and rightful nominee for the governor of Utah. He is the leader we need and deserve.

I’ll finish by saying that governors are every bit as important as presidents. And dammit, we get to pick ours.

Let’s choose a real leader, Utah.

Let’s not blindly go along to get along.

Let���s stand up and do the right thing.

Let’s take our home back!

Let’s break the machine!
