Statement on My Appointment as New Media and Strategic Communications Director of the NDC.
Thanks be to the God of my Covenant, my help in ages past and my hope for years to come.
I wish to express my sincere and profound gratitude to my leader, boss, and father, the National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, for the confidence reposed in me to lead the digital communications efforts of our great party.
For many years, I have been an ardent supporter of Senator Dickson and the core values he espouses. What particularly endeared him to me is his principled and consistent advocacy for restructuring and the devolution of powers, two ideological positions I firmly believe can fundamentally transform Nigeria’s governance trajectory. Consequently, when he conceived the idea of founding a political party anchored on these ideals, it was a natural and straightforward decision for me to align with him and the NDC.
Those familiar with my public positions know that I have always maintained radical conviction, intellectual independence, and consistent commitment to my beliefs. I do not follow the crowd, nor do I retreat from what I consider right.
I began supporting the NDC from the very moment our National Leader conceived the vision of an ideologically driven political party. I was a foundational member who actively mobilised support and contributed to building the party from its inception, long before it gained national prominence through the influx of other leaders and their supporters.
It is therefore a misrepresentation to suggest that I opportunistically sought an appointment only after the party attained visibility. By the special grace of God, I am not in need of the party for personal financial gain or prominence. As a young man raising a beautiful family while pursuing a career in public service, I have been blessed with stability and fulfilment.
Like most Nigerians, regardless of political affiliation, I believe our country deserves better and that our numerous challenges can be effectively addressed through purposeful, visionary leadership. It is on this conviction that I have offered myself for service, beginning at the foundational level of governance ( the political party) which serves as the platform for grooming and presenting leaders for public office.
Drawing from my years of experience in civil society and media, where I have managed communications for various brands, institutions, and personalities, I am committed to leveraging my expertise to position the NDC as a credible, viable alternative for Nigerians seeking genuine change.
I acknowledge the mixed reactions that greeted my appointment. However, I assure all genuine supporters of the NDC that I have the best interests of the party and its candidates at heart.
I will channel the same passion and energy that has sparked debate into promoting our candidates, combating misinformation, setting the national agenda, and advancing the ideals of the party and its National Leader.
At this critical juncture in our nation’s history, we share a common goal. We must therefore rise above trivial distractions and minor differences to remain focused on our collective vision for a better Nigeria.
Finally, I extend heartfelt appreciation to Nigerians for their overwhelming support, kind wishes and prayers. I never knew I was loved this much. To those who, despite our differences in affiliation, defended me fiercely and passionately, I will never forget your solidarity.
NDC is my party.
Sen. Seriake Dickson is my National Leader and with His Excellency Peter Obi and HE Rabiu Kwankwaso as our party’s presidential nominees, we are fully committed to ensuring their victory in 2027.
Information is power. We will deploy it strategically and tactfully to deliver our message to the electorate. This battle is not won through empty rhetoric but through deliberate strategy, discipline, and tact.
VeryDarkMan mobilized people to come to the airport to protect him from arrest, but he was in for a shock: nobody planned to arrest him.
He wanted to be arrested to trend and twist the narrative to look like he was being targeted for speaking against Tinubu’s second-term bid.
Guess what? He was disappointed.
But let it be known: if the authorities wanted to arrest VeryDarkMan, they would arrest him. None of the people he mobilized would have stopped it.
I rise.

You Clowns Don’t Understand What You Are Up Against.
Last night, I had an interview with Arise TV, where I sympathised with our aspirants over some noticeable irregularities in our just-concluded primaries.
I noted that, while not claiming that the exercise was perfect, I urged all of them to bear with the party in view of the circumstances we are managing, which have overwhelmed even bigger parties. This includes parties with a sitting President, 33 Governors, and control of political structures in most states, in the case of the APC, and even the ADC, which is over two years old.
I made the case that we are just four months old and have been thrown into the middle of a very tight electoral timeframe, within which we had to carry out membership registration, congresses up to the national convention, primaries up to the national convention, appeal processes, and now the reconciliation phase.
I identified the root cause of these challenges, my views on the Electoral Act have been clear: the APC-led majority were wrong in foisting compulsory direct primaries on political parties and the country. Complaints about irregularities in direct primaries are pervasive across all parties and are not peculiar to the NDC.
As a matter of fact, considering the age of the NDC and the teeming number of aspirants we have had to manage, we have done quite well. For months since the formation of the NDC, I have been building confidence and receiving respected politicians into its fold. Since the primaries I have been attending to people and managing disagreements across the country on a daily basis.
The NDC is on the ascendancy, and I thank Nigerians for their trust and confidence in our party. Even these challenges, which are not peculiar to us, will pass.
I also noted that no party has announced any set of winners from its primaries, and neither has the NDC. The public should disregard any such claims in circulation, especially on social media, and await the party's formal submissions through the appropriate channels. The results of party primaries are not announced like school results; they are communicated through formal channels.
I thank all our members for their abiding support. In anticipation of these challenges, the 2nd NEC meeting, held a few days ago, approved the composition of a Reconciliation Committee to work with state caucus leaders and other stakeholders in managing grievances.
As I have stated before, this is our first set of primaries, and it will also be the last to be conducted manually. The next primaries will be technologically driven and will have none of these issues.
I thank all supporters of our party, which has no government officials and is entirely self-funded. I appreciate their donations, contributions, and sacrifices made on behalf of the party. They remain valuable members of our party regardless of the outcome of the primaries.
We are in this together, and we are all committed to ensuring the success of our party and our presidential team, their Excellencies Peter Obi and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who are my colleagues in this project.
This success must be managed carefully, with everyone working together. I advise all members and supporters to avoid meaningless quarrels and infighting. Everyone should support our candidates, from the Presidency down to the least elective office.
I urge all the stakeholders, caucus leaders and other leaders in various states who coordinated the primaries to take responsibility and step up their game in terms of coordiating the reconciliation process. Most of the candidates are persons backed and recommended by them, and not me nor the national leadership of the party. It is not a time to shift blames or dodge responsibilities. Since they midwifed and managed the process of the primaries, they should equally help in supporting the party in coordinating the reconciliation process, of which they have the support of the party.

Did Theo approve this design? You are using the official party logo on an unapproved design? You can't run a parallel media team. You have to follow instructions. This is the last warning! If you continue like this, we may withdraw Obi's ticket before June 26.

Don’t Disparage Me or My Party. If It’s Easy, Go and Form Your Own Party. You’re Not Doing NDC a Favor. NDC Is Doing You a Favor — Sen. Dickson Tells Obedients
Former Bayelsa State Governor and Senator, Seriake Dickson, has pushed back against claims that supporters of Peter Obi are doing the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) a favor by backing the party’s presidential ticket.
Speaking during an interview on Arise TV’s Prime Time Show, Dickson said the NDC existed and was attracting prominent politicians long before Obi and other opposition figures joined its platform.
According to him, Obi and his running mate were offered the party’s presidential ticket without paying any money, stressing that the NDC leadership voluntarily opened its platform to them because it had confidence in their candidacy.
Dickson rejected suggestions that the NDC needed Obi more than Obi needed the party, insisting that the narrative undermines the efforts of those who built the party from scratch.
“There is no one doing NDC a favor,” he said. “Rather, the NDC and my colleagues are doing people a favor by granting our platform to them.”
The senator also warned Obi’s supporters, popularly known as Obedients, against attacking the party or its leadership while claiming to support the former Anambra governor.
“You cannot be supporting Peter Obi, if you are genuinely supporting him, and at the same time disparaging me, the leader, or the platform itself. That is nons£nsical,” Dickson stated.
He further challenged critics who believe political party formation is easy, saying they should attempt to register and build their own party structures.
“If it’s easy for people to form a party, go and form yours,” he said.
Dickson maintained that the NDC had been receiving influential politicians from across the country months before Obi and other opposition figures joined, citing former governors and political heavyweights who had already aligned with the party.
He urged supporters and political commentators to show greater respect for the platform, warning against narratives that portray the NDC as dependent on any single individual for relevance or survival.
