We lost Booker today.
We went to a pit bull rescue 7 years ago to find a bull breed. Booker was a puppy that was brought in just to see if he could find a home. HE chose US. He walked right over and started licking my son Roen right on his nose (Roen was just a baby then).
Booker had to have a knee replaced, multiple surgical and even broke his back at one point. But he always persevered and was always happy. He wagged his tail through it all. Like an absolutely champion.
Today, my wife noticed he was lethargic. An hour later, cold and pale. Two hours later, he was gone. It looks like he had an undiagnosed tumor near his heart that may have ruptured. We may know more soon but not sure it really matters at this point.
I left for TwitchCon nervous and excited. I've been on the plan during this entire ordeal. I'm still figuring out what I'm going to do. What he would want me to do.
Thank you for the outpouring of good vibes and consideration in my last thread on this. I wish I could individually message all of you to make sure how much you know it means. Bawling my eyes out on a plane was not on my bingo card this year.
We'll always love, cherish and remember you Booker. It's time to take my own advice and focus on the time we had, not the time we won't. Rest in peace, my little friend. Love you.
Malena and I are wrapping up this chapter in our lives—we've decided to end our relationship. We have different goals, and pursuing them means going our separate ways. Thank you so much to the followers and others who have supported us as a team—you're in our hearts as we start our new chapters.
