🚨 STRICT RULES FOR COAL TRANSPORT IN ODISHA… BUT IN BADBIL, IT’S COMPLETE LAWLESSNESS!
The Transport Department and the Directorate of Mines, Government of Odisha, have laid down clear and strict rules for coal transportation to protect the environment and public safety.
Key Rules that MUST be followed:
1. Tarpaulin Covering is Mandatory
Every dump box (truck/cart) must be fully covered with tarpaulin while loading and transporting coal so that coal lumps do not fly in the wind or spill on the roads.
2. Freeboard Rule
Coal must be loaded by leaving a few inches of free space from the top of the dump box. Piling coal above the rim is strictly prohibited.
3. Water Spraying is Compulsory
Water must be sprayed on the coal before the vehicle leaves the mine or railway siding area to suppress dust.
Yet in Badbil, NONE of these rules are being followed.
Every single day, thousands of overloaded coal trucks and dumpers race through the Badbil region with no tarpaulin, coal piled high above the box, and zero water sprinkling. The result? Massive clouds of coal dust engulf the entire area, roads turn black, people breathe iron-laden dust 24×7, and residents near the railway siding and mining corridors are slowly being poisoned.
This is not just violation of rules — this is criminal negligence by the authorities responsible for enforcement.
The same government that issues strict guidelines is turning a blind eye while the people of Badbil choke on coal dust every day.

How long will you allow this open flouting of your own rules?
How many more years will the people of Badbil have to inhale toxic dust before you take action?
Enforce the rules NOW or admit that the law exists only on paper.

@AshwiniVaishnaw That is good, however, please also give some thought to the other older trains currently in operation, as they are causing daily inconvenience to the common people.
🚨 “By Making Passengers Shed Tears of Blood, Chakradharpur Division Secured 4th Rank in Goods Loading in the Country”
This is the actual headline of a major news report today.
Chakradharpur (CKP) Railway Division under South Eastern Railway has proudly achieved the 4th position in the entire country in freight (goods) loading — 154.97 units and a massive revenue of ₹13,098.85 crore.
But at what cost?
The report itself admits that this so-called “achievement” has come by making thousands of passengers from Badbil (Barbil) and surrounding mining regions shed tears of blood.
Even the premium Howrah–Barbil Jan Shatabdi Express — the only reliable lifeline for students, office-goers, patients and daily commuters — is being mercilessly delayed for hours every single day. A distance of just 62 kilometres is now taking 5 to 6 hours because CKP Division is busy giving unlimited priority to freight rakes.
MLAs, MPs, former Chief Minister and hundreds of local residents have repeatedly complained… yet railway officials continue to sleep peacefully.
This is not development.
This is deliberate harassment of tax-paying citizens in a region that feeds the nation’s steel industry.
While CKP Division celebrates 4th rank in maalgaadi loading, it has earned the first rank in passenger torture.

When will you stop treating Badbil passengers as second-class citizens? When will freight greed end and passenger dignity begin?
The people of Badbil are watching. The suffering will no longer remain unheard.

This is exactly the daily reality that passengers of Badbil are forced to endure.
A Barbil-Tata MEMU (68126) running 3 hours late today, leaving passengers — including hungry and thirsty families with small children — crying and distressed on board.
This is not just “delay”.
This is daily harassment of common people by CKP Division.
Freight trains get priority and clear paths, while passenger trains like MEMU and Jan Shatabdi are routinely held up, short-terminated, or made to run extremely late.
How long will @AshwiniVaishnaw, @serailwaykol, and @CKP_Division continue to ignore the suffering of thousands of daily commuters, students, and workers in the Badbil mining region?
Enough is enough.
We fully stand with the passengers.
The people of Badbil demand immediate accountability and restoration of punctual passenger services.

As usual, the Barbil-Tata MEMU train is running 3 hours late today, How long will they continue to cause such distress to the general public? People are hungry and thirsty.
Some bikers drive their bikes at very high speed, and this is a school area, so it is very important to have speed breakers to avoid any accidents. @BarbilULB @DistAdmKeonjhar
@BarbilULB, Station Road (OMC Chhak → Govind Tower) is straight, but bikers often ride recklessly. Several pedestrians have been severely injured in #Accidents. #Urgent request: install road bumps at accident-prone points to ensure #PublicSafety. #RoadSafety @DistAdmKeonjhar
@RailwaySeva @CkpDrm The train has not reached Tata station yet, Trains are getting delayed by 4-5 hours daily. Who is responsible for the problems being faced by the public due to this and will all these problems be resolved or not???

Barbil Tata MEMO train is stopped at Chaibasa station since last 1.5 hour, train pilot says that no signal is being received, public is facing inconvenience, who is responsible for this.

Two heavy vehicles have been parked for days near Shiv Lal Park, Barbil, significantly blocking the service lane of SH10B. This is causing a serious threat to pedestrians & other road users. Authorities, please take action! 🛣️ #RoadSafety@STAOdisha@spkeonjhar @DistAdmKeonjhar
