എന്റെ അമ്മ ഒരു ആസ്തമ പേഷ്യന്റാണ്. ഇടക്കിടക്ക് വരുന്ന ആസ്ത്മ അറ്റാക്ക് അമ്മയെയും ഞങ്ങളെ മൊത്തത്തിലും കുറെ കഷ്ടപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. കുറേ വർഷങ്ങൾ നീണ്ട ചികിത്സയിലൂടെയാണ് ഇപ്പൊ ഒരു നോർമൽ എന്ന് പറയാവുന്ന സ്ഥിതി എത്തിയത്. ഇപ്പൊഴും ആസ്ത്മ വരുമെങ്കിലും, മുൻപത്തെ അത്ര സീരിയസ് ആവാറില്ല. പിന്നെ മാനേജ് ചെയ്യാൻ അമ്മക്ക് തന്നെ പറ്റുന്നുമുണ്ട്.
ഏകദേശം 300 മില്ല്യൺ ആൾക്കാർക്ക് ആസ്ത്മ വരുന്നുണ്ടെന്നും അതിൽ 0.5 മില്ല്യണോളം ആൾക്കാർ കൊല്ലം മരണപ്പെടുന്നു എന്നും കണക്ക്.
ഇപ്പൊ depemokimab എന്നൊരു പുതിയ മരുന്ന് കണ്ടുപിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. UK, USA, Japan ലൊക്കെ പ്രിസ്ക്രിപ്ഷൻ വഴി (Exdensur എന്ന ലേബൽ) ഇത് കിട്ടും.. ഇന്ത്യയിലെ സ്ഥിതി അറിയില്ല..
വർഷത്തിൽ 2 ഇഞ്ചക്ഷൻ എടുത്താൽ സീരിയസ് ആസ്ത്മാ അറ്റാക്ക് വരാനുള്ള ചാൻസ് ~70-75% കുറയുന്നു എന്ന് പഠനം.
