Much of the “mental load” mothers have is due to coddling their children. “Better pack everything!” Or else what? The kids won’t die if they don’t have immediate access to bottled water and snacks. It’s not a big deal. My goodness.

I think it’s important for everyone to know that the best way to protect your health, avoid the deleterious effects of chemicals, hormone disrupters, industrialized synthetics, etc., is actually really easy.

Just don’t be born. If you’re not alive, you don’t have to experience any of the effects of the fallen world. Your health? Never negatively impacted. It’s super simple.

If you’re reading this and you’ve already made the fatal mistake of being born and are now subject to entropy (only one documented survivor in history so far, but He did die first), you might as well clean something with bleach and try not to stress too much today over the EMF in the air because stress raises cortisol which causes inflammation and….wait Nevermind.

None of us are making it out alive so you might as well enjoy your life, be faithful with what you can, and stop looking for boogeymen in every corner of your kitchen. They’re there, I promise, but they’ve already lost.

Good question. This is literally one of my biggest fears and it came out of nowhere. Every time I’ve had a stuffy nose this past year I’ve panicked and thought, “this would be one of the worst ways to die.”

I’m seeing a lot of foolish controversies play out on X involving edgelords on the far right who seem allergic to limiting principles. The result is either the adoption of—or flirtation with—utterly vile figures and positions: racism, Kinism, eugenics, antisemitism, and contempt for women. Titus 3:9 and 2 Timothy 2:23 apply directly here. These are foolish debates not worth fanning. What we’re watching is monetized quarreling fueled by vainglory. Ignore it (meanwhile, I’m aware that I’m ironically discussing it here). These discussions are not profitable; they merely expose—and self-select—those willing to set their reputations on fire out of fear of never being outflanked.

It’s striking how so-called bravery and moral turpitude become indistinguishable once the test for credibility is “basedness” rather than Scripture. And yes, I’m aware that some of these voices attempt to shoehorn their positions back into the Bible through strained exegesis. This is actually eisegesis at its finest: “We can’t condemn interracial marriage outright because Scripture includes cross-ethnic marriages, so let’s invent an extenuating factor or extra-biblical category that allows us to question it while still maintaining our ultra-based credentials.”

As always, we must choose whose side we are on. “Left” and “Right” are surface-level categories. The deeper question is whether one’s views align with Scripture. If political coalitions determine the boundaries of acceptable coalitions and viewpoints, one will inevitably drift, slowly normalizing positions that one’s former self would have found plainly unreasonable just a few years ago. This is why we must cast our lot with the Bible and its call to moral righteousness—not, ultimately, with “Right” or “Left.” The Bible is not a Third Way document (and I think Third Wayism is a naïve failure). It is the document upon which all other categories stand or fall.

One additional factor is worth noting. I came of age during the height of the now-defunct Emergent Church movement. I was theologically young at the time, sensed something was off, and trusted leaders who warned that Emergent figures would eventually reveal themselves as theological liberals. They were right. I cannot name a single prominent Emergent leader who did not eventually drift into outright heresy. There is a parallel here. For some time now, I’ve noticed that significant portions—not all—of the Christian Nationalism conversation exhibit an unhealthy fixation on race, ethnicity, and Jews. I found it disturbing and thought, this is not going to end well. This is where we are right now. This conversation is metastasizing in real-time.

And here we are. Views that would once have been unthinkable are now entertained under the cover of “just asking questions,” challenging the “post-war consensus,” or subverting “effeminate Reformed evangelicalism.” Not all questioning is wrong in the same way that not everything we inherit is inherently praiseworthy. What appears to be happening, however, is that concern for Western civilization has eclipsed concern for piety, virtue, prudence, and self-control—creating a passageway for the invitation, normalization, and even baptism of sentiments that are not merely anti-progressive, but profoundly anti-Christian. If you have cast your lot with this camp, now would be a prudent moment to step back and reassess before you find yourself carried even further downstream.

I’m told there’s an emerging segment of young American males completely done with the liberal order. There are many aspects of liberal order worth questioning and re-considering (among them mass immigration, feminism, globalism, identity politics, sexual revolution, etc.). That’s fine. And I'm genuinely thankful for the renewed focus on issues related to political theology. My call is to question those within the constraints of biblical fidelity, not warmed-over old-fashioned bigotry seasoned with cruelty and arrogance.

Kids can do more intellectually than you think → Elementary-age brains are primed for memorization. They love poetry, historical dates, Shakespeare, and beautifully crafted fiction.

BUT

Kids can do LESS emotionally than you think → Their prefrontal cortex is still developing. They need help managing emotions, staying focused, resolving conflict, and resisting distractions like screens.
