Is the so-called “Pretoria Agreement” not, in fact, the very source of all the problems? The complex realities of Ethiopia — and of Tigray in particular — cannot be resolved through quick - fix approaches like Pretoria. Many informed observers had already warned that the “agreement” was fundamentally flawed from the outset: an amateurish diplomatic exercise dead on arrival. Yet some continue, whether knowingly or unwittingly, to confer upon it a legitimacy it never possessed and never will.
