Soon to be grads: don’t jump on the first job offer, only the RIGHT one for you! The unknown is scary but there are so many great opportunities in the market right now. Patience will pay off.
This is your reminder that helmets do not prevent concussions. Your brain is in free space and liquid. Putting a helmet over that space won’t prevent the brain from bobbling around inside your skull. Helmets do however help with mitigating the risk of facial & skull fractures 🙂
Advice for #NATM2023. You can not help others if you do not help yourself. Being an AT will take a lot out of you by draining your days by being away from family, friends, and your own hobbies. Learn to take off for yourself. If you have a chance to take a day off, take it.
Dear parents,
Your AT is an allied health professional. They are not a coach trying to give you medical advice. They are TRAINED in sports medicine for at least 4 years in school. PLEASE listen to them and save yourself some money/unnecessary ER visits.
Sincerely,
A tired AT
Just a random thought but in my opinion athletic trainers have one of the coolest jobs. We get paid to watch sports, and help our athletes prepare to kill it on the field/court. Wouldn’t want to do be doing anything else.
@Slunaker1588 When kids are in concussion protocol, we have to ask them whether or not they plan on hunting over the weekend. No loud noises, limiting physical activity, etc 😂 hunting is my hobby too, so it’s easy for me to remember!
Their first UND hockey experiences were destination games. They got hooked and they'll be in Vegas. The stories of a Maui native who had never seen a hockey game until 2018 Vegas and a fan traveling 4,000 miles from Newfoundland after attending 2016 NYC. https://t.co/UBFJOzCX72
If I was a man, I’d be described as authoritative and stern. I would resemble a lot of the male coaches I have worked with.
But, as I am a 5’2”, little woman, it’s described as “having an attitude” and “bitchy”…
It’s one of those weeks, y’all.
It’s time for an important college athletics thread::
ATHLETIC TRAINERS: Coaching friends, we all know a good AT can be, at times, more beneficial than anyone else on staff!
