Western society often romanticizes contact w/ 'untouched' civilizations, wondering: What can we teach them? How will they react to our culture & tech?
We SHOULD ask: What can WE learn from them before it's too late? And how best to help them decide their own fate & future?

Thank you Antanika Hoberg for having me in your new podcast: Altered States of Consciousness. We had a great chat on altered states, the Amazon, integration, and moving forward with psychedelic science.
The episode will be out on November 5th.

Unfortunately these areas of concern and the absence of traditional knowledge perspectives are all-to-common in Psychedelic Science more broadly. It would be of great benefit of Psychedelic Science to consider the wealth of knowledge held in these perspectives.
An interesting study on DMT/Harmine combinations for meditators just out. But there are some niggles that I have noticed. The gaps in the present study highlight the desperate need of Psychedelic Science to learn from traditional cultures and practices.
Whilst the outputs of the paper are interesting, there are definitely some major areas for concern and a clear need for a more robust understanding of the landscape within which these compounds are traditionally situated, and the repercussions of using such terminologies.
