@operamagazine Favourite: Nixon in China - John Adams. Musically brilliant and a superb libretto by Alice Goodman.
Greatest: Porgy and Bess. Gershwin at his finest.
@grahamdubber In contrast, in 1971 Pompey beat Hull City away 1-0. Even the partisan Sports Mail admitted that it was totally one-sided with the match report mainly a long list of saves that Milkins made. Top keeper.
Acquired this compilation of the first three bibliographies of the Golden Cockerel Press. Contains 17 Ravilious woodcuts, but was pleasantly surprised to also find a transcript of a 1948 BBC radio tribute by the GCP publisher and Tirzah Garwood. @Ravilious1942
@MartinSLewis@bbc5live I've got a wind-up 1930s His Master's Voice gramophone player. Last used to play Ketelbey's In a Monastery Garden to the children some 25 years ago.
@CaveWinds@operamagazine@Morehouse@AtlantaSymphony There is some ballet in Treemonisha - called the Frolic of the Bears. Saw the excellent Grimeborn production at the @arcolatheatre. Be good to see it produced by one of the bigger companies. It deserves a wider audience.
