Only America can be $40 trillion in debt and have absolutely nothing to show for it!
No bullet trains or modern infrastructure.
No universal healthcare/college/ or trade school.
No universal basic income.
No universal childcare.
100 active and former ICE and Border Patrol agents charged with sexual and violent crimes. 50 of those were sex offenses; 35 involved children. They were given the power to arrest and deport.
It’s almost like hiring a bunch of white nationalists was a bad fucking idea.
Ben Meiselas: "Now that we know the U.S. debt reached $40 trillion, Donald Trump once warned of the dangers of reaching a debt level of $20 trillion. That's the point of no return, he said, when he ran in 2015."
I used to think the Republican Party stood for fiscal responsibility. Then they passed a tax bill that exploded the deficit to give the top 1% a $4 trillion gift. Now they want to cut my Social Security to pay for it. #HoldTheCrooksAccountable
Extreme wealth concentration is a quiet, corporate coup. A system cannot have "one person, one vote" when a tiny room of billionaires has enough capital to out-spend, out-lobby, and out-influence the entire remaining 99% of the population.
Our National Debt just hit $40 TRILLION dollars.
This is a five alarm fire…🔥
This should be what he’s talking about.
Convince me he doesn’t want to burn us all down.
NOAA launches the weather balloons, floats the ocean buoys, flies the satellites, and staffs the forecasters that tell us when storms are coming. That data supports about two-thirds of the economy, roughly $1.3 trillion a year, and it paid us back $73 for every dollar we spent on it.
DOGE took a chainsaw to it anyway.
They cut 2,500 people.
They pushed out 27,000 years of experience in just a few months.
Now a charter fishing captain in Homer, Alaska has spent half a season with no idea what the wind is doing in waters he fishes every day. Kansas got hit by two tornadoes nobody saw coming. Forecasters missed how strong a typhoon was as it headed for Alaska. Farmers, insurers, airlines, and city engineers are all working with worse information than they had two years ago.
And now the Trump administration plan is to cut even deeper.
They want to pull another $1.6 billion out of NOAA next year. They want to hand the rest to private companies, so your town ends up paying a business for weather data your taxes already paid for, with no promise it will even be right.
Wrecking a 73-to-1 investment and sending the bill to fishermen, farmers, and families. Just crazy.

Last year at this time, Health and Human Services Secretary Kennedy terminated 22 mRNA research contracts worth $500 million. Same cost as Trump’s gifted Qatari plane.
Today, Merck and Moderna announced that an experimental breakthrough vaccine treatment — developed through mRNA research previously funded by NIH — has shown signs of preventing cancer from returning or spreading in a study of high-risk melanoma patients.
Thank god the NIH funded this before Kennedy and the Trump administration showed up to degrade America’s health and leadership.
Which Republican senator has the courage to tell Secretary Kennedy that his decisions are making Americans sicker and letting China take the lead on research, science, and technology?
I’ll save you the time and give you the answer: none of them.

Yale University researchers who analyzed how much “Medicare for All” would cost:
“A universal healthcare system in the U.S. would not require the country to spend more on healthcare. It would require it to spend less.”
@RichardAHolcom1@HistorianUSA1 The administration boom came with the rise of HMOs. Now there’s far too many- and many get paid insanely well, especially when compared to patient facing positions from the janitor to residents.
