I'm an ER Nurse in Seattle. Last night @SeattlePD officers came to the ER to obtain a statement from an assault patient. One officer, Eric Whitehead, blatantly refused to put a mask on while standing in a high-traffic hallway. There were covid positive pts in nearby rooms. 1/
Just a hunch but focussing on enforcement, fines and walks with coffee might distract some people from whether lockdown rules are effective and clear, impact of xmas mixing, borders and quarantine, schools chaos, hungry kids without laptops, and a failed test and trace system.
@IanDunt also forcing schools to spend xmas preparing to do mass testing (and not prepping online education) and then sending them back for 1 day when SAGE had been saying since November that schools were an issue...
Diary of a Sad Woman - why I hate COVID. Sun, Oct 15th - my brother picks up my mom who has just spent 2 weeks in Florida staying with my aunt post uncle’s death. Mom/dad had both attended my uncle’s funeral 2 weeks earlier. Mom comes back feeling sick.
One day soon - not this year or the next, but not so long from now - we will undo this. We will regain our right to travel and live freely on our continent once again.
Most importantly, the Government needs to move our frontline response away from our schools, workplaces and communities and focus on catching new cases at the UK’s entry points. (3/4)

judging by my social media feeds it seems all the "rule of six" announcement has done is inform people that they can meet in each others' houses in constantly changing groups of six with no masks or social distancing, excellent work Boris Johnson et al
