@adamxii Treasure was a different publisher. The first three Barnavelts were at Dial; Bellairs returned in 1983 for Blue Figurine and the people at Dial came up with a great look for future titles (thanks in part to Atha Tehon https://t.co/eum7Z5vvJ0 and others, I'm sure).

[1/8] When the #JohnBellairs #LewisBarnavelt books were published in Poland in the early 2000s the cover images did not make much sense. Then we discovered some of the artwork had been previously used for other books. Ex: here's #BeastUnderTheWizardsBridge.

By far our favorite Polish #JohnBellairs #LewisBarnavelt cover is #FigureInTheShadows. If a movie of this book ever is made, may it too can include the scene with the school bus and purple foam in all its misguided glory.
