The primaries spoke but APC didnt listen. I know a young woman who spoke the language of the community, the women, the youth. She got the support of the local leaders. She campaigned. She engaged. She won the primaries. But the election was stolen from her. APC is tone deaf!
The people who understand the language, emotion and culture of the crowd are often absent from the centre of the programme.
At the Osun rally, even cultural figures such as King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal were reportedly confined largely to pre programme performances, while youth and women voices were not sufficiently integrated into the main political messaging. Local leaders who could have spoken directly to their communities in familiar idioms were not adequately elevated.
Leaders such as Senator Babajide Omoworare, Senator Iyiola Omisore, Honourable Ayo Omidiran, Mrs Titi Laoye Tomori and many others carry deep local political histories that cannot be replaced by visiting dignitaries. Campaigns must integrate labour leaders, community organisers, women mobilisers, youth coordinators and respected grassroots figures who actually move voters.
A rally is not a ceremony. It is a mobilisation tool.
Bringing governors and national figures from outside Osun may create optics, but elections are won by those who understand the streets, compounds, markets, campuses, motor parks, churches, mosques and communities. Local people must lead the local campaign and complemented by voices of national influencers who can also energise the base.
The deeper challenge remains internal division. No amount of campaign technology can compensate for a fractured political family. We cannot continue with a “to your tents, O Israel” approach and expect victory. Politics is addition. Sometimes it requires humility, accommodation and strategic reconciliation.
Our party has shown this pragmatism elsewhere (Akwa Ibom, Plateau etc) by absorbing opposition governors and expanding its coalition. Osun should not be an exception.
We should also be bold enough to open a sincere political conversation with Governor Adeleke. In politics, yesterday’s opponent is sometimes tomorrow’s ally. Osun’s history is full of such realignments.
We must also end the practice of assembling campaign councils weeks before elections and expecting miracles. A campaign council must be formed early, properly funded, given clear deliverables and held accountable. Anything less is theatre, not strategy.
As we look toward 2027, we must deliberately identify and empower our best young communicators, creatives, professionals, digital voices, campus leaders, community organisers and women mobilisers. They must be brought to the front, not kept in the background.
We must rebuild respect for party institutions. We must reconcile our internal divisions. We must replace ceremonial structures with working organisations. And we must stop mistaking elite presence for grassroots mobilisation.
President Tinubu gave us a democratic contest. Governor Adeleke understood his people. Davido understood his generation.
The question is whether the APC understands its own lesson.
This is not a call for blame. It is a call for renewal. Silence will not win 2027.
Osun has spoken.
The APC must now listen.

Thank you for saying this. I absolutely love being Aunty to all my nieces and nephews both connected by blood and friendship. I love every one of them like they are mine. I'm grateful their parents value my contribution to their lives. It takes a village to raise a child.
Democracy was never designed for Spectators.
One of the greatest penalties for refusing to participate in politics is ending up governed by your inferiors~Plato
Therein lies the monumental tragedy Africa has experienced with the practice of Democracy. It must end.
Policy by Default: When thoughtful voices are silent, decisions regarding public resources, societal values, and community welfare are left entirely to those with specific agendas.
Vacuum of Leadership: Retreating from public life does not make power disappear; it simply changes hands, often to those who care less about the common good.
This is extremely important for GenX, Millennials and GenZ.
Don’t retreat.
Plato made wise observations. Heed.

Barack: You told me all those years ago that you couldn’t promise me the world, but you could promise me an interesting life. Of course, you outdid yourself and managed to give me both.
Eight years in the crucible, and not once did you melt from the heat. Not once did you let it harden you. Instead, you used it to reveal your truest essence: your stubborn optimism and unflinching courage, your dazzling brilliance and unpretentious decency, your ferocious work ethic and absolutely unshakable moral fiber.
A golden girl! My big sister stuns at 50! Gorgeous in and out! Happy Birthday Aunty Sandra! Praise God for what he's doing in your life. I wish you many more years in great health. May God's goodness and mercy abide with you now and forever. I'm so grateful for you 😘
Sandra Ebahi Adio, a truly super woman and great human, our anchor, treasure and Special One, my wife and lover, is 50 today.
It is the Lord's doing and it is marvellous in our eyes.
May she remain golden in every sense. Amen.

Barack and I were so honored to have @AkunyiliCrosby create our portrait for the Obama Presidential Center. Her artistic brilliance shines through — and the way she infused such life and joy into the piece is truly extraordinary. We love it, and we think everyone who visits the Center will too!

We differ in opinion but still remain cordial. Lessons on democracy.
@_chiamaka_xx@Ol0ye What's unreasonable about a 9pm curfew? I've had 6pm curfew in some homes and i was grateful for it. When people are doing you a favour you set your sense of entitlement aside and cooperate. It's only but for a season. When you finally get your own home you can live on your terms
A new movement is born!
Women. Youth. Party members. Citizens.
Across Ile-Oluji, Okeigbo, and Odigbo — a new political generation is waking up, and it will not be silenced.
"This is bigger than one aspirant or one election. A new political generation is emerging across Ile-Oluji, Oke-Igbo, and Odigbo."
The movement is peaceful. The movement is democratic. The movement is unstoppable.

This is landslide victory at its best! @OfficialAPCNg must show that it is a party that cares about democracy. Let the people have their voice. Don't suffocate it. The people have chosen @Simi4Reps. Honor the people's choice!
HON. SIMISOLA FAJEMIROKUN-AJAYI DEMANDS PROTECTION OF APC PRIMARY RESULTS
Hon. Simisola Fajemirokun-Ajayi has called on the APC leadership, security agencies, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to protect the integrity of the APC primary process across Ile-Oluji, Oke-Igbo, and Odigbo Federal Constituency.
She also sincerely appreciates every supporter and party member who came out peacefully to exercise their democratic right and stood firm despite intimidation, pressure, and attempts to suppress the will of the people.
Verified polling unit reports collated by agents across the constituency show overwhelming grassroots support for Hon. Simi, particularly in Odigbo LGA; the largest voting bloc in the constituency.
Current verified figures show:
• Simisola Fajemirokun-Ajayi: 4,247 votes
• Matthew Oye Oyerinmade: 1,790 votes
• Festus Adefiranye: 788 votes
Hon. Simi secured decisive victories across most Odigbo wards, including Agbabu, Ago-Alaye, Ajue, Araromi Obu, Ebijaw, Koseru, Odigbo, Ore I, and Ore II.
However, despite the clear outcome reflected in polling unit reports, disturbing incidents of intimidation, disruption, and irregularities have been reported in parts of the constituency, including disruption of voting lines, absence of electoral officials, and attempts to compromise the results.
Particularly troubling is the alleged conduct of certain aides and associates linked to the Ondo State Government, whose actions represent a serious blemish on the image of the APC and risk damaging the credibility of future party elections if unchecked.
Democracy cannot survive where intimidation replaces fairness.
Hon. Simi therefore calls on President Tinubu and the APC national leadership to protect ordinary party members, women, youths, and minority voices from political bullying and suppression.
Women have a place in politics.
Women have a place in leadership.
And the voices of the people must not be silenced.
Signed,
Hon. Simisola Fajemirokun-Ajayi

What is your real problem with this quote @HRM_Olufunmi ? A sitting President in their 4 year tenure can aspire to visit all 36 states of the federation to interact with Nigerians. Before election they spend time travelling to canvass for votes. Should it end there?
I wondered how I blindly supported this man at the last presidential election, probably it was out of my utmost disinterest in BAT.
I built a pedestal for a man who turned out to be a common clay.😂😂
