hi. call me bell. agender prince (any pronouns) who likes to draw and stuff.....
i talk about my oshis/spam oomfs/write nothingburger stuff here. follow @desclochettes for actual content. cheers!
can't and probably won't add all of my thoughts on twitter dot com. just wished more people in the sphere would use menhera more positively. i'm happy i've found so many in recent days......
this 💯 being openly menhera will have ppl assuming you're a "psycho" and either hate you for existing or get upset when you don't fulfill their mentally ill girlfriend fantasy
but in the end, the subculture is so important to me 🤕 i don't want that interpretation to win
I feel like I have to clarify something and its kinda annoying ughh "( – ⌓ – )
I am a menhera vtuber - what does this mean?
Does this mean I am going to be crashing out and unprofessional on social media? No. Does it mean I have BPD? No.. (menhera =/= bpd) Does this mean I will be mean to my friends, or cannot hold down relationships or am boycrazy and a "yandere" ?? no.....
This means I have mental health issues, and I am actively try to be better with them/better myself and my mental health. The true meaning of menhera was born from a community that wanted to discuss their mental health without negative stigma attached to it.
Ironically, the term that started on a 2chan board for BPD (therefore the common misconception) spiraled into a derogatory term used by normies (for a lack of a better word here..) to describe mentally unstable people who lash out all the time. While this CAN be true, it is not reflective of the menhera community as a whole, mental health issues look different from person to person, I myself suffer from depression and passive suicidal ideation, but I actively try my best to become better, but I am not lying or shying away from my struggles and talk openly about it (if I feel like it fkjghdfg) and I hope I can help fight off this negative stigma attached to the term, to me - menhera is a community of mentally ill people who try their best to be better, but who also are open about their mental health.
Discussing ones mental health is often seen as taboo but I know I am not the only one who struggles with it, so by talking about it maybe I can help others who feel similar or struggle themselves.
That doesnt mean I have to act over the top on social media and crash out or get into drama or whatever....!!! Why would I wanna do that, that would fuck up my mental health even more !!!!!! I am self-destructive, but more so in the "i will isolate and self-harm" kinda way...
I wish more people would know about this positive aspect of menhera T - T but I realize that it can be seen as a brand risk maybe for those who are uniformed..
Gomene Kanja-sama, I just wanted to talk about this as something came up and it has been on my mind.. I know kanja-sama probably knows about it, but I hope I can invite others to do some research themselves!!
Obligatory twitter disclaimer: I am not here to argue btw, i am not here trying to change your mind, if you are not open to the possibility of learning more and are convinced your definition is the right one.
If you do need my credentials however, I did study JP popculture at university (in japan) and wrote my thesis about the origin of menhera, as well as the current day perception of menhera, in the east and the west
So I am not talking out of my ass with this ( ˘ ³˘)
THATS IT i might delete it later kdjfhsdkjfh
