I think this shows in how often self-identified (recovering/ex-)addicts personify addiction as a bad, toxic, or abusive relationship when they narrate their own lives
Susceptibility to peer pressure is not so much an antecedent to “drug addiction” as it is an earlier object of the same coping mechanism; most people make friends before they use drugs
@b_n_d_l_e He combines the stalest, most aggravating elements of late-2010s left-Twitter style with the most idiotic and noxious “takes” he can paraphrase from other viral right-wing posts from the week
@PaupersWeight Definitely—online “Left-Coms” come to mind as a sub-group who seem to labor under this assumption already. For example rigid insistence on terms: “Marx was not a philosopher”, “communism is the real movement which abolishes the present state of thing”, etc.
@Affenschande_ The previous generation of American "gay voice" was highly influenced by (and later preserved in) Hollywood movies. There aren't too many remaining extant speakers of that particular dialect, but it has shaped more recent ways of speaking significantly.
Not in my capacity as an executive officer of a major, multinational corporation—but rather, as an AMERICAN CITIZEN, I condemn (so-called) President Donald J. Trump, in the *strongest* possible terms.
