He’s been open that he wanted to quit before it turned into a real problem because he couldn’t socialize without alcohol. He wasn’t in full blown addiction but knew it easily could turn into that so he chose to try dry January. Once he finished that he saw the benefits and chose to continue.

Questioning someone’s reasoning for sobriety is extremely fucked up and will also make others who are struggling feel unsafe to come out with their own stories. You’re attacking him for what? Because he chose to live a life of sobriety? How is that anything to get upset over? He’s clearly been thriving since that decision and enjoys life a lot more.
