National Translation Bee Final news - Beth came 3rd in the German competition and Jess came 4th in French! Huge congratulations on this outstanding achievement! Phoebe also performed well as did Ruby in the Spelling Bee final #BelperProud

Ruby in Year 7 represented Belper School in the final of the Foreign Language Spelling Bee at Cambridge University. She was brilliant!

More winners for Belper School! Jess in Y9 came 1st in the regional final of the French Translation Bee competition. Beth in Y8 came 1st and Phoebe came 3rd in the German regional final. They're all off to Cambridge University in July for the National Final! Congratulations!

- 260 schools entered a translation competition run by Oxford University. Finley was the overall winner of the Y7 German competition, Phoebe the overall winner of the Y8/9 German competition and Myah and Evie were highly commended for their entry in the Y8/9 French competition.

Languages Success
Congratulations to a number of our students who've been hugely successful in a number of competitions recently.
- Ruby in Year 7 is going to Cambridge in June for the National Finals of the Foreign language Spelling Bee.

- Beth in Year 8 won an international foreign language poetry recital competition against entrants from 6 continents.
- Alfie in Year 12 was highly commended for his essay on Cologne cathedral in the Year 12/13 category of a competition run by the German Oxford Olympiad.
