I got embarrassed in front of my girlfriend today over a $3 tip.

I paid for my food, took my change and pressed “No Tip.”

The cashier looked at me and said:

“It’s only $3. Why are you taking it back?”

I told him I wasn’t tipping for someone who literally handed me my food over a counter.

He got mad.

Then he looked at my girlfriend and said:

“Your boyfriend is a loser if he can’t afford to tip $3.”

That’s when I snapped.

When did NOT tipping become something you’re supposed to be publicly shamed for?

If your business needs customers to feel guilty enough to subsidize your employees’ wages, maybe the problem isn’t the customer.
