This afternoon at State House Entebbe, I met a delegation from Africa Centers for Disease Control (CDC) led by Director General Dr. Jean Kaseya, who briefed me on the regional Ebola situation and the measures being taken to ensure Uganda remains protected.
They proposed establishing a continental Incident Management Support Team for Ebola in Kampala to strengthen regional coordination and monitoring efforts, which Uganda welcomes and will support.
With proper attention and preparedness, Ebola is very manageable.

The Uganda Tourism Board is reassuring the public, tourism partners, and the international community that Uganda remains safe for travel as it continues to monitor isolated imported Ebola cases linked to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This flag pole is only half way complete. Our engineers were waiting for our crane to arrive from abroad to finish it. It's going to be the tallest in Eastern Africa! Rather than salaries and exorbitant allowances money should be spent in making our Fatherland Uganda great!
I shall say one more thing today. The entire budget for roads in Kampala will be under my control (CDF). I will determine who builds and repairs roads.
Floods in Kampala have been caused by 40 years of corruption in the city. We had idiots like Lukwago for 25 years! That is changing now. UPDF is taking charge.
Fellow Ugandans, especially the Bazzukulu, greetings.
ย
After consultations with the national epidemic response task force and religious leaders, we have decided to postpone the Martyrs' Day to a later date, which will be communicated.
ย
This decision was made because Uganda receives thousands of pilgrims annually from Eastern Congo, which is currently experiencing an Ebola outbreak. To safeguard everyone's lives, it is essential that this important event be postponed.
ย
I encourage those who had begun their journey to return home, continue observing the precautionary measures, report anyone who is sick, and encourage those who are ill to seek medical care.
ย
We regret any inconvenience caused, but the protection of life must come first.
ย
Signed:
Yoweri K. Museveni

The Chief Justice of Uganda Alfonseย Owiny-Dollo is concerned that the Acholi sub-region remains underdeveloped regardless of being second after Entebbe in receiving rains. He is now urging Acholiย leaders to join hands and rally residents for economic revival.
