Transfer growth can be exciting and feel good, but hardly the point.

@JohnPiper How about we tackle fried chicken, potlucks, and gluttony before we try to decide to rule on such *important* topics as coffee in the sanctuary...
@matttebbe You are either extremely naive and sadly mistaken or you're aligned with this sick, abhorrent behavior. And does this look like "rich white old dudes"?
@djmikeydubs@jonvonachen@SNYtv@MLB Exactly...my issue is with the time clock for pitchers and, even more ridiculous so far, the batters. How do you get a strike called against you when a pitch hasn't even been thrown? You wanna watch a circus game? The @TheSavBananas have mastered that.
@VeilCassandra @jacobhuneycutt_ @jingervuolo I did the exact same thing as a kid with those two names being somewhat prominent in my household growing up! π€£π
@scottsauls I'm exhausted just reading the comments and incessant retorts. I can't imagine trying to handle them with grace the way you have (and do). Thanks for showing us Jesus, Scott.
"Be efficient with things.
Be effective with people.
Manage things. Lead people.
And because we get so good at management, oftentimes, unknowingly, we start to manage people as if they were things." @StephenMRCovey https://t.co/XXHKOycvaV
Christian men should have female friends, actually.
We should also be wise and attentive to appropriate boundaries (sexual and otherwise) in all relationships. But authentic Christian community can't exist as long as we view male-female friendship as inherently dangerous.
God has called us, chiefly, to be His disciples, not His vigilantes. And I fear our collective anger too often tips us over the line in that regard.

@lancejorton@BozT All true but why are we assuming it's a "narrative" and not simply the truth? I get it. I'm jaded and have church hurt. I see the stories. But what if...this is an elder board actually doing it right and holding the lead pastor to the high standard that's been set before him?
I understand considering story after story coming out of the evangelical Church, but are we any better when we assume the worst and paint with such broad strokes, the majority having no ties to the church and merely speculating or downright declaring guilt of the worst offenses?!
So many assuming the worst.

I love and respect my dear brother @MattChandler74 .
Iβm grateful for his public display of great humility and character.
Praying you grow closer to our great God and your family in your time away.
