The reality is clear: too few midwives are carrying too heavy a load. When midwives are stretched, care is compromised. Investing in more midwives is not a future goal, it is an immediate necessity.

Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale today flagged off 316 Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) graduates at Afya House, Nairobi, whose internship placements were reinstated following a Ministry audit into posting irregularities.
So,
For every list that universities send to to MoH for internship placement as list of students who have completed studies (graduation not withstanding), MoH send the list back to NCK to verify each name.
NCK tracks all nursing students from admission to completion through a unique index number.
Schools file return of students census each year. And once you pass your last exam, your school notifies NCK.
Thus, NCK should always have an updated list of all nursing students from, and the level of studies at any point.
So that means, if MoH posted guys that have not completed studies, the NCK did not do a thorough verification of the names that were submitted.
And that means that some schools submitted erroneous names.
Responsibility has to be taken from the highest office. On this, MoH is right. And should crack on the schools that submitted names of students who haven’t completed school.
Do we want real leaders or just more politicians? The seductive pull of presidential charisma is exactly what might hand Ruto a second term if we’re not paying attention.
We don't need another flashy, smooth-talking figurehead. I want a boring, drama-free, scandal-proof president. Someone with no blood on their hands, no corruption cases, no skeletons in their closet.
Give me a leader with integrity, not flair. Okiya ft. Maraga, now that’s the kind of leadership we need.
