As someone who lived through the CO fires (old neighborhood gone, new house was .5 mile), here are some things that are going to happen:
-cleanup crews are going spray special green foam over the sites to stop wind from picking up toxic ash
-Use PPE if you touch it or ash.
Cheesy Beef-Stuffed Shells
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
2 cups marinara sauce
1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese
12 jumbo pasta shells
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside to cool.
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat, then stir in the marinara sauce. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Spread half of the meat sauce evenly on the bottom of a baking dish.
Stuff each cooked pasta shell with the ricotta mixture and arrange them in the baking dish.
Pour the remaining meat sauce over the stuffed shells and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Allow to cool slightly before serving. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
