My brother, Wahab Jamiu, was among the passengers kidnapped yesterday on their way to the NYSC camp. His live location stopped sharing along the Onitsha-Owerri Road.

Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo: “By the mercy of God, I will be addressing the world in Israel.”
“Preachers from America, from China, from around the world - we will meet face to face.”
“I am coming to stand for Nigeria and to pray for our nation: for Muslims being killed in Zamfara, Kebbi, Sokoto and Katsina, for Christians, for my Biafran brothers, and for the release of Nnamdi Kanu from Sokoto prison.”
“I am coming to pray against the Fulani terrorists who invaded my village and killed three people in my jurisdiction.”
“I want to thank Benjamin Netanyahu. By God’s grace, if we meet one on one in Israel, I will share with him the agony of Christians in Nigeria.”
“My government has said nothing about the persecution and genocide of Christians in Nigeria, yet it stands to advocate for the Palestinians and a two-state solution. If that is their position, then there should be two states in Nigeria as well, because Christians are not free. We are suffering under Sharia.
When I land in Jerusalem, the demonic manipulation from the Kingdom of Islam will suffer violence through prayer.”
“Prayer warriors from America, Canada, France, Spain and all over the world will gather to present the case of their nations. We ask God to show mercy upon all of us - including the Fulani terrorists. We love them.”
On Independence Day October 1st, 2026 the Obidient and OK Movement Coordinators (@ElijahNoah8@Evangbensmith) were arrested in Akwa Ibom by @Akspolicecommd and the AKS Government @aksgovt / @_PastorUmoEno.
9 other supporters were also arrested simply for holding a peaceful solidarity rally (2 Million March for the Obi/Kwankwaso presidential ticket).
Since when did peaceful gatherings, rallies campaigns or even protests become a crime in Nigeria?
We demand their immediate and unconditional release.⚠️‼️

STATEMENT ON THE UNLAWFUL ARREST OF OK MOVEMENT AND OBIDIENT COORDINATORS & MEMBERS IN AKWA IBOM STATE.
We strongly condemn the reported arrest of the OK Movement Coordinator in Akwa Ibom State and the Obidient Coordinator in Akwa Ibom State and its members on October 1, 2026.
At a time when Nigeria is fully entering the campaign season ahead of the 2027 elections, citizens must be allowed to freely participate in political activities, engage with their communities, and express their political choices within the law.
We therefore demand the immediate release of both coordinators and members they are being held without lawful grounds. Freedom of expression, peaceful assembly, and participation in political activities are constitutionally protected rights.
The arrest of political coordinators on October 1, Nigeria’s Independence Day, sends a troubling message about the state of civic freedom in our country.
At a time when Nigerians should be encouraged to participate in democracy, actions that restrict peaceful political engagement are retrogressive and should have no place in a democratic society.
We call on the Nigeria Police Force and the relevant authorities in Akwa Ibom State to respect the constitutional rights of these citizens and ensure their immediate release, or publicly state the lawful basis for their continued detention.
Nigeria’s democracy must protect participation, not suppress it.
Nigeria Will Be OK.

FACES OF EVIL
The Akwa Ibom State Governor @_PastorUmoEno and his Police Commissioner @Akspolicecommd were out today, October 1st, arresting and intimidating Nigerians for no clear reason, but NYSC members traveling from Akwa Ibom to Lagos were kidnapped today⚠️‼️
This calamity of a government has started arresting Obidient Coordinators.
Tinubu and these overfed APC Governors should know very well now that THERE IS NO AMOUNT OF INTIMIDATION THAT CAN STOP THE PEOPLES WISH COME 2027.
Tinubu will leave Aso Rock next year. Nigerians have already decided.
In the meantime, free this gentleman, he is not the one that promised to make transportation fare cheaper on October 1.
Free Dr Ben Smith now!!!

Independence Is Meaningless Without Real Freedom
As we continue to reflect on Nigeria’s Independence, we must remember that independence means very little if citizens cannot freely express themselves, within the bounds of the law, without fear.
Reports that some Nigerians in Akwa Ibom were arrested simply for identifying with the Obidient Movement should worry every Nigerian who believes in democracy and freedom, especially when such identification is a constitutional right.
One of the greatest tragedies of our society is that people who once described themselves as freedom fighters can become defenders of oppression when they eventually occupy positions of authority. Those who once complained about injustice can become comfortable with injustice when it is being perpetrated against people they disagree with. That must not be the Nigeria we accept.
Our independence must ultimately mean freedom from fear, injustice, intolerance and abuse of power.
Nigeria must belong to all of us. -PO
Free Dr. Ben Smith!
We will not be intimidated, silenced, or cowed. Our Constitution guarantees the fundamental freedoms of association and expression, and we will continue to exercise these rights peacefully and courageously. We stand firmly for justice, liberty, and the rule of law.
Section 40: “Every person shall be entitled to assemble freely and associate with other persons, and in particular he may form or belong to any political party, trade union or any other association for the protection of his interests.”
“Under Sections 39 and 40 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), every person is entitled to freedom of expression, peaceful assembly and association. We will not be intimidated or cowed in the lawful exercise of these fundamental rights.”
Free Dr. Ben Smith!
In one night, 526 Christians were massacred in this village and this church was razed by radical Fulani Muslims. Yet every evening, believers still gather to worship in its ruins, just feet from the mass grave where more than 500 victims are buried.
Nigeria at 66: Looking Back, Looking Forward
Fellow Nigerians,
Today we mark the sixty-sixth anniversary of our independence. It ought to be a day of celebration and thanksgiving to God Almighty for the gift of life and for the immense blessings He has bestowed on our nation—our diversity, our abundant human and natural resources, our vast agricultural potential, and the relative absence of devastating natural disasters.
It should also be a day of appreciation and patriotism: a day to remember our founding fathers and all those who made selfless, and in many cases supreme, sacrifices for the birth, survival and growth of our dear nation. We must acknowledge the efforts of past and present leaders who have laboured, however imperfectly, to build a better Nigeria.
Yet independence anniversaries must never be reduced to mere celebration. They are moments for honest national reflection. We must look back, examine where we stand today, and ask ourselves whether we are moving in the direction our founding fathers envisioned.
In national planning and strategy, every serious nation must continually ask three fundamental questions:
Where are we today?
Where do we want to be?
How do we get from where we are to where we want to be?
These questions are especially urgent now. Despite the enormous promises made by the APC-led government in 2023, our nation continues to face deepening challenges across virtually every critical sector of national life.
Today we stand before the world as a nation:
With an extraordinarily large population living in poverty and severe hardship; over 140M
With one of the largest populations of out-of-school children in the world; over 18M
Where insecurity, terrorism, banditry and kidnapping continue to threaten lives and livelihoods, just recently 37 young Nigerians in their productive age lost their lives
Where millions of Nigerians struggle with hunger and food insecurity; over 40M Nigerians will be in extreme hunger by the end of 2026.
With unacceptably high rates of infant and maternal mortality; Nigeria today is the worst place to be born.
Where youth unemployment and underemployment remain alarmingly high; over 35M
Where drug abuse and substance misuse increasingly threaten our young population; today 14% as against global average of 6%
Where life expectancy remains among the lowest globally, today 54 years against global average of 74 years
And the list goes on.
This reality demands serious, sober and honest reflection. Socrates taught that “the unexamined life is not worth living.” By the same principle, an unexamined nation cannot successfully chart its future. We must therefore ask ourselves: Are we cursed, or have we become the curse through the choices we have made and the failures we have tolerated?
The answer cannot be that Nigeria is cursed. We are a nation immensely endowed and blessed. Our greatest problem is not a lack of resources; it is the failure to convert our enormous resources into human development, productivity, security and shared prosperity.
Only yesterday, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and I returned from a two-day visit to Sokoto State. We held extensive consultations with people from different parts of the state on insecurity, out-of-school children, poverty, youth unemployment, drug abuse and other challenges confronting our people.
In concluding the visit, we went to the Internally Displaced Persons camp at Ramin Kura within Sokoto metropolis. What we saw was deeply troubling. Thousands of women and children live in deplorable conditions, displaced from their homes and deprived of the basic necessities of life. Many of the children have no access to education. Mothers and children have limited access to basic healthcare. These are Nigerians who should be living in their communities, going to school, farming their land, conducting their businesses and contributing to the economy. Instead, they live as displaced persons in their own country.
