I personally withdraw my earlier remarks that may have appeared disrespectful to the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

Governor Monday Okpebholo was in Osun State for the election and, in my view, conducted himself in a very uncharitable manner. But the election is now over. Going forward, I would respectfully advise the Governor to speak more through his media aides and reduce the activities of the two overzealous cheerleaders around him who are constantly shouting, hyping and hailing him.

A lot of eminent Nigerians and respected members of the APC were in Osun State. Many worked even harder than Governor Monday Okpebholo for their party, yet none publicly disrespected Governor Ademola Adeleke or diminished the dignity of his office.

I therefore withdraw any statement that may have appeared unduly insulting or disrespectful. Political disagreements should never prevent us from respecting public institutions and the offices people occupy.

I equally encourage the good people of Edo State to continue to hold their Governor accountable. That is the responsibility of citizens in every democracy.

Gov Adeleke Visits Tinubu After Osun Election Victory

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State on Thursday visited President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa for the first time since his victory in the August 15, 2026 governorship election.

Adeleke also presented his certificate of return to Tinubu.
The visit came days after the president congratulated Adeleke on his re-election, describing the outcome as a reflection of the will of Osun voters.

It is a great honour to accompany His Excellency, Senator @AAdeleke_01 , on a visit to His Excellency, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

It was a privilege to join this important engagement and witness the spirit of leadership, unity and service to our great nation.

I warmly congratulate a worthy son of Osun State, Mr. Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, on his appointment as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

This is a remarkable recognition of his decades of dedicated and distinguished service to our dear country. His steady rise through the Federal Civil Service, including his service as Permanent Secretary in several strategic ministries, is a testament to his competence, professionalism and commitment to public service.

I am confident that Mr. Enitan will bring his wealth of experience to bear in strengthening the Federal Civil Service and advancing reforms that promote efficiency, professionalism and effective service delivery.

On behalf of the Government and people of Osun State, I wish him great success as he assumes this important responsibility.

I write this with a painful heart, as I note that Wole Oke has resorted to using the pain of other people for politics. It is sad that Nigerian politicians are evil, wicked, callous and without humanity in them. It is not a decent thing to do.

During the Osun State governorship election, a young man, Ajayi Aderogba, an Accord member in Esa Oke, Wole Oke’s town, was gruesomely killed in the presence of his wife and three children. I stood with his family, demanded justice, provided their contact to the State Government for necessary assistance and offered my personal support. Wole Oke, who represents the people and in whose town it happened, did nothing.

In Ijebu Jesa, Timileyin Ola, whose mother is a major member of Accord, was killed just two days before his birthday. Again, I stood with his family, demanded justice, provided their contact to the Government for assistance and offered my personal support. Wole Oke did nothing.

Two days before the election, Ayegbo Oladele, a member of the APC, was also gruesomely murdered. I publicly condemned his killing and demanded justice for his family. I requested the contact of his wife, forwarded it to the State Government and personally offered my support.

It is shameful to read Hon. Wole Oke’s reaction to my humanitarian gesture and that of the State Government. At a time when families are mourning, compassion should never be reduced to politics. Wole Oke is now busy using the death of an innocent man as the last item of his political career.

Hon. Wole Oke did not show any concern for the family of Ajayi Aderogba, his own kinsman, who was killed in his own Esa Oke, nor did he show any concern for the family of Timileyin Ola. Instead, statements attributed to him sought to link some of these deaths to cult-related violence at a time when the families were in pain.

It is unfortunate that the death of Dele is now the new politics Wole Oke has found. I will not allow politics to determine whose widow deserves compassion, whose children deserve support or whose family deserves justice.

I am determined to offer assistance to Dele’s family because I know that if I do not make the attempt, Wole Oke will not get up and do what he is supposed to do.

You have accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of being responsible for the killing of Dele. The State Government will conduct a live inquest into all the killings, and the entire world will see soon.

May the Souls of the departed rest in Peace.

May Almighty God grant the departed eternal rest and comfort those they left behind. Together, let us heal, unite and continue building a greater Osun.
