@Tyler_A_Harper I worked for a D1 school and multiple NCAA conferences. I'm ok with programs getting donations, finding ways to make it work. But programs that have like 50 fans at a 50k student university need evaluation. Golf is insane cost/athlete.

@jeffhunt I make a good salary and have GREAT insurance. I had to take a relative out of state, out of network because Colorado mental health care is SO bad. You can't get help if you want it. It's no wonder we're having so many issues here....

@TrentonLuera14 At least in hockey, lots of kids are going into "academies" taking online joke lessons and getting inflated grades. My son got perfect grades, high test scores, top of his class. It's not exactly opening the doors you say it will....

@StormBuonantony $24k/year my first year working for Team USA. By the time I left I was up in the $40's doing statistics and technical analysis for swimmers like Michael Phelps. It was a lot of fun, though!

@adamtirapelle My son played In a 14u travel hockey league for a former D1/Team USA coach...a guy who coached multiple NHL All Stars. His kid was solid, not great....just a good kid. Guess who was NOT getting all the opportunities? Yep, his kid. I respect the hell out of both of them.

@BrianKight The more profit taking that happens, the more FOMO there is. Just pay the "pros" money and your kids can be great. This isn't participation trophies, it's snake oil salesmen....

@BrianKight I actually disagree. My kids plays Junior Hockey. I was a wrestler as a kids, coached by one of the greats. My coach made $0. My kids coach makes $100k. The wrestling asst were volunteers. We now pay specialists. The wrestling coach produced 4x Olympians. Hockey: 0

@NUHockeyBlog CC did this in the 90's (home games at Air Forces smaller barn) while in between arenas. It'll work out.

@HockeyThinkTank There's a certain program nearby who will blacklist entire families if one kid chooses to go elsewhere. They also forbid training outside the team in the off-season. Madness.....
