@JulioNapolesMD @jbcarmody Lawsuits/threats r common, I assume. They know many of ur patients would follow you & they can prevent that by enforcing the noncompete. In a suit, they typically ask for your old salary 1-2 yrs (duration of the noncompete) & lawyer fees, which can run into hundreds of thousands.

@jbcarmody Would be great for me & others in my situation. Currently, I drive 72 miles one-way to work b/c of the noncompete (50 mi; 2 yrs) with my fmr employer, a behemoth “healthcare system”. The unacceptable alternative was to move & uproot my wife from her job & my kids from their schl.

@MathewLeonardi Pre- & post-insertion ultrasound?! 😳 Such an unnecessary overuse of resources, IMO. One can gauge uterine orientation, size & cavity depth by a combo of pelvic/bimanual exam and careful sounding. For the routine insertion, ultrasound is not required at any stage of the process.

@sscjusa Certainly true in my case! My mother & father struggled and raised us in abject poverty in Nigeria. I later found my way to the United States (long story). But she passed away just 6 months before I completed my medical training when she was supposed to come for my graduation. ☹️
