Mayor Bass has repeatedly emphasized the “rapid pace of rebuilding, including issuing permits.”

Thousands of homes were destroyed, and yet fewer than 100 building permits have been issued after six months. Does anyone believe this is rapid rebuilding?

While the Army Corps did an amazing job clearing the debris, the City has failed to create the expedited permit process it promised. Residents are stuck in endless red tape at City Hall.

Mayor Bass and the City Council have consistently failed our neighborhoods, businesses, and those suffering on the streets. We now know billions of tax dollars have been wasted through mismanagement and fraud. No more excuses.

Finally, a statewide ban on encampments — long overdue. LA’s failed approach has shown us that it’s time for California cities to step up and end this cycle once and for all. It’s time for real action.
