@atk3001 @Tim__x6 @juanbuis @ChieHo2 Ironically in this thread I see exactly nobody shitting on Android, but a bunch of Android fans shitting on iOS, you included… That seems to be the norm online for some reason. Lots of Android users talking about iOS nonstop and iPhone users not thinking about Android at all. 🙃
I'm currently looking for a new remote job opportunity as the Lead iOS Engineer at a US-based technology startup. I have an extensive background working on iOS and Mac products that have scaled to millions of users. Resume here: https://t.co/dPtORWjokA
@AsahiLinux@UINT_MIN Fantastic write up! I’m so glad you decided to follow Dolphin’s example as their write ups are some of (possible the?) best of any OSS project and I always look forward to reading them.
Very cool to see so much progress so quickly, I can’t wait to start using it on my M1 Air!
Wow Intel just cannot catch a break... Not the best timing for yet another vulnerability, right as AMD and ARM are starting to absolutely dominate them on literally all fronts 😵
Wow this is incredibly interesting. Very well written! Must read for any programmers out there. The similarities between our bodies’ internal machinery and computer hardware and digital information processing is astounding. Also cool to see that the vaccine is “open source”!
@marythought@gabidavila @ABigAleLady @MarkCC@RealAbril@Google @gregsramblings "my experience has been in software development not algorithms" That's exactly now I feel about it, couldn't have said it better.
@gabidavila@marythought @ABigAleLady @MarkCC@RealAbril@Google @gregsramblings Possible that the process I'm describing is only for software engineers (or was anyway, no idea what they do now). My info at the time was directly from the engineer that recommended me, but I never actually interviewed, so I'm going off of hearsay. Congrats on nailing yours!
@gabidavila@marythought @ABigAleLady @MarkCC@RealAbril@Google Also I know Apple is very team specific as far as their processes go, so much so that you have to re-interview whenever you switch teams, so it's also very possible that other's Apple interviews were very different than mine. I got lucky that mine had a very reasonable process.
@gabidavila@marythought @ABigAleLady @MarkCC@RealAbril@Google Interesting to hear that. When was your interview? This would have been about 7 years ago, so maybe things have changed? At that time, as far as I'm aware, they had a sort of generic interview process for all developers and only after that you would choose your team/position.
We believe users should have the choice over the data that is being collected about them and how it’s used. Facebook can continue to track users across apps and websites as before, App Tracking Transparency in iOS 14 will just require that they ask for your permission first.
Startups are like casinos. You have scars from the last trip and you swear you won’t do it again. But then the itch comes back and you suddenly find yourself at the blackjack tables—or rather, the conference room of a VC.
