While the Akosombo Dam (the Volta Project) is widely recognized as a major achievement (that Ghana still hasn't eclipsed, more than 60 years later), Nkrumah's initial vision for it was far more comprehensive.

He saw it not just as a power source but as an integrated project for broader agro-industrial development, including business opportunities, irrigation, and non-soil agriculture.

This suggests a more holistic and ambitious understanding of development than is often attributed to his industrialization drive sometimes.
