"The term national debt is a very strange term...really a very misleading term...for the US, the UK, Japan, China, where it's a contained financial system in its own currency, the money that's spent always goes back into the financial system."
~ Frank Newman, former Deputy Secretary of the US Treasury https://t.co/SNgwbM1Va6

@BTCare@BTCare please assist. I tried to get help from your chat room and instead of cancelling the entertainment pass they cancelled everything. Now I cant get sport and iv received a package asking me to return the TV box. What is going on!? Please can you restore my package.
@BTCare I want to cancel my Now TV Entertainment pass. BT doesn't let me without 'completing my order', which forces me to either add a new EE TV extra box or cancel my existing one. Please advise how I can just cancel the NOW entertainment. Thank you.
@askparamount hi, I want to cancel my subscription, but it says you have to do it on the original device. However, every device ive ever used this on (3) each tell me thats not the right device or place to manage it - meaning im unable to cancel the subscription. Can you help?
@facebook hi, my accounts got hacked and now I've been locked out and its been disabled. Apparently the name has changrd and I have no viewable profile. How do i get it back please?
Here's something the review of the BBC's coverage of issues like tax and the public finances said recently: “Too often, it’s not clear from a report that fiscal policy decisions are also political choices;' /1
@LucaVanDresh@jamesallcott I think.. But not certain.. the country can allocate it however they want. They just get x number of spots, cos a few years ago think they discussed giving it to the FA cup winner.
@LucaVanDresh Fair enough! I actually think im the opposite on all 3. Altho depends if you're asking who I thinks a better footballer, or who you're picking in an 11 with a balanced side etc.
@ILGUSTOUK hi, I bought some liqueur in a bottle as a present today from your store in York. The bottle top keeps popping out without touching it, so the booze won't keep until the weekend when we planned to gift it. Please advise how we go about collecting our refund
@Dominos_UK Hi, I just tried to order a pizza and it didn't work so had to do it again. However, I was charged for the first order that didn't go through as well. I called the store but they weren't helpful. How do I go about getting this refunded? Thanks
As yet true inflationary pressures are still overwhelmingly global not domestic. Wage rises at present are lagging inflation, not exceeding it, meaning real terms pay cuts. As yet there is no wage price spiral. And it’s not uk government spending that’s driving inflation.
The left should be attacking this budget on the grounds of debunked trickle down economics, it's unfairness and its impact on inequality. Let's not give ammunition to austerity hawks and market fundamentalists.
Exactly this. The LT/KK budget was awful, but the left should be careful, and not suggest that markets running around like headless chickens, enacting self-fulfilling prophecies (fear of inflation causing inflation), is a good way to determine policy.
I just don't think it's useful for people who are nominally on the left to start crowing about how Rishi Sunak was right, and the wisdom of the markets!
I dont understand what commentators like this actually want done about so-called 'cancel culture'... which tbh is mostly the result of the market reacting to younger customers who try to consume in-line with their ethics, rather than draconian free speech laws or violent mobs.
Putting David Starkey and Dapper Laughs in the same boat as Rushdie is such a false equivalence. Publishers or venues are free to publish or host who they like, equally consumers exercise their freedom of expression through boycott.
I don't under this cognitive dissonance.
We agree it's wrong to attack Salman Rushdie for offending people... and yet we want to cancel comedians for offending people.
Or are we saying its ok to offend religious people but not others? That doesn't fly either.
