For 8+ years PUDL has powered clean energy advocates with access to free data. Now, we need your help powering PUDL, so weโre launching the PUDL Sustainers program! ๐งต
I'm trying to get caught up on the Fireweed Lane project. Why does "Final Design/Right-of-Way Acquisition" take three years? https://t.co/FnR519PcsC

I'm not trying to throw shade anywhere I just don't know much about what happens after the public involvement process and am wondering how project times can be improved.
Earlier this summer Catalyst member @ZaneSelvans gave at talk at @CSVConference on worker co-ops as a container for public interest technology projects. Watch it or read it as a blog post here! Cc: @WeAreDAWI@USFWC

I've loved working in this structure because it allows us to get paid for working on a small but impactful open-source project without being beholden to VC money.
@joshdr83 Here are some housing-related open data projects:

@CatalystCoop / PUDL was accepted to @GoogleOSS Season of Docs! We're hiring for a technical writer who has experience with Python and the energy system. Here is the full description: https://t.co/G1vxwc95aK
Another new PUDL data release, our 3rd in 3 months! v2024.2.6 adds 2023Q4 data from EIA-860M, EIA-923, and the EPA CEMS hourly emissions.
Also, a new EIA860M changelog table that lets you see how fossil plant retirement dates have evolved over time.

Has anyone looked at how much energy efficiency measures like heat pumps, rate design, and energy retrofits could help with the NG shortage on the Railbelt?
Replacing the energy source with renewables or imported LNG is the big fish to fry, but I feel like energy efficiency hasn't been a big enough part of the conversation. Would a best-case scenario for energy efficiency in the short term only be a drop in the bucket?
New PUDL data release: v2024.02.05. Main focus was reorganizing the DB to use clearer naming conventions, improvements to the FERC-EIA record linkage process, & lots of new release tooling/automation.

The video from the Open Data for Energy Modeling panel we organized at @openmod in November is up! Thanks to @maxparzen and @OETenergy for organizing the conference.

We've been working hard to create a system that allows us to release data more frequently. Here is the first of hopefully monthly data releases from PUDL!
We've got a new PUDL data release, v2023.12.01 with updated data through the end of 2022.
If you depend on our nightly builds, consider pinning to this release for now, as we'll be renaming many tables soon.

@iamjoshbraun@dagster This looks great! Which version are these features available in? I'm unable to right click asset groups. Also, are these features also available in the jobs view or only in the Global Lineage view?
