"I can honestly describe Arday’s teaching as terrible."
Jason Arday taught me. Here’s what I learned.
The song lyrics were the first red flag. The way he’d ramble about Tinie Tempah or Eminem, or how black artists like Beyoncé were sexualized by white men, without offering any evidence to substantiate his claims. Or else there were the film clips, from Fish Tank and Kidulthood, which he’d tell us to discuss without offering guidance on how to do so. And this was if he was even in the classroom at all. He often arrived late and left early, once teaching for a single hour when four were scheduled.
So when I saw Jason Arday’s name in the news, my first thought was: “finally!” As a student on the Education module Arday taught at the University of Roehampton, back in autumn 2018, a module replete with music but shockingly light on education, I can’t help but have thoughts on the story that’s unfolded over the last couple of weeks. For me, though, the real surprise is that it didn’t all come out sooner.
Before Arday arrived at Roehampton, university leaders enthusiastically told us of his amazing backstory: how he only learned to speak at 11 and write at 18, and how excited they were to have him teaching us. Naturally, we were all very interested to see the man himself, even if the module he’d be teaching had been written by a previous lecturer.
I can honestly describe Arday’s teaching as terrible. He rarely used the PowerPoint slides. Instead, he usually sat casually on a desk, giving his generalized views on racism without ever referring to any academic theories — let alone those relevant to the “Youth Participation and Identities” module he was supposed to be teaching.
@KDansky@sophaller You've been out there from the beginning, Kara. Thanks to O.G.s like you, the issue is finally making it into the mainstream -- the WNBA, no less. Thanks for all you do for women and girls.
This stunt is infuriating. This exacerbates how difficult legitimately transgender people go through their life. The social stigma, the constant scrutiny and dysphoria. This only makes their lives harder. Shameful.
Democrats were ruthless last year — from passing Prop 50 in California to electing a Democratic governor in Virginia. We need to be ruthless again.
We’re flipping seats from red to blue across the country. KEEP FIGHTING!
We’re going to make history in November.
@SenMarkKelly Ok mark. Check in with the American people when you have something to say other than “look at Trump, look at what he’s doing, he’s so lawless, somebody DO something!!”
Ok, we will; when you have some good ideas that we can vote FOR!
That’s awesome, truly.
But are you saying we’re back in the 60’s and 70’s?
Uh, we’re not. It’s 2026.
Females are putting up numbers far beyond their male counterparts in every profession that requires a higher education.
You’re welcome.
@SpeakerPelosi Uh huh….under the cover of darkness, the “progressives” have unleashed such a scourge on our children with DEI, trans ideology, critical race theory and victimhood. Oppressors vs the oppressed.
That’s why you have Trump!
These are challenging times, but we are not powerless.
If our votes did not matter, they would not be working overtime to make them harder to cast.
This November, we will show them what happens when millions of Americans turn out in our numbers.
👀This is a real GOTCHA moment.👇🏻When 52 year old Kellie Jay told Helen Webberley she wasn’t taking. HRT, Helen quipped,
“Oh, dear. I’ll meet you in 10 years’ time.”
Kellie asked Helen what’s wrong with her not having HRT hormones,
and Helen told her authoritatively,
“If you spend too much of your life without it, your bones are at risk, your brain is at risk of Alzheimer’s, and your vagina atrophies”.
Read that again… Helen voices ‘medical concern’ that KJK is lacking female hormones in mid life and beyond, yet she has no qualms whatsoever in robbing young girls of their female hormones for THEIR ENTIRE ADULT LIFE!
Even though she’s just listed the awful consequences! 🤯
This madwoman claims giving a child the sex hormones of the opposite sex works just the same as those their body naturally produces.
If that were true, why don’t doctors mimic the male hormone profile in the HRT they give to women?
The clue’s in the name - Because it’s hormone REPLACEMENT, and female hormones can’t be replaced with male ones, whether you’re 11 or 52!
@GeraldoRivera Aaawww, you’re so cute; poking your head up and speaking out, now that you know it’s a bit safe to do so!!
Coward, like the rest of them.
