I love Ronaldo. No debate.
But there’s something you can’t ignore when you watch Portugal and Argentina side by side…
It’s not even about talent.
It’s something close to spirit.
The Argentines play like men who have decided, collectively, “This man(Messi) must win.”
It feels too personal.
They run harder. They fight longer. They sacrifice more.
But Portugal?
It feels… different.
I don’t mean they’re bad or weak.
But that team is in the simplest terms… disconnected.
One of them even said, “Ronaldo is just like any other player.”
And that’s where my point is…
Because Ronaldo’s greatest strength has always been his ability to carry everything on his own.
The hunger. The discipline. The obsession.
He didn’t wait for help. He became the help.
But there’s a hidden cost to that kind of life.
When you’ve spent years being the one who carries…you forget how to be carried.
When you’ve built everything yourself …support now feels unfamiliar.
Even uncomfortable.
And slowly, without realizing it, you stop receiving.
We see it everywhere.
The older generation who “hustled their way up” now struggling to listen, to trust, to lean on others.
We see it in our parents..
Not that they’re arrogant…but they justdon’t know how.
And that’s the quiet danger of strength.
If you’re not careful, it isolates you.
Because at some point in life, winning stops being about how much you can do alone…and starts being about how well you can let others in.
Portugal and Argentina are showing it clearly.
The most dangerous teams aren’t just talented.
They’re united.
They believe in something bigger than one person.
And that’s the lesson.
You can be strong. You can be driven. You can even be great on your own.
But if you never learn to receive, you might never reach what you were truly capable of.
Because some victories…are impossible alone.
