The impact you made both on and off the court will forever be felt by the city of Boston and Celtics fans everywhere.
Thank you to one of the all-time great Celtics, Jaylen Brown ☘️
Boston Celtics 7-footer Neemias Queta will sign a new four-year, $56 million extension with the franchise, his agent Bill Duffy of WME Basketball tells ESPN. Queta has established himself as a critical Celtics piece – from two-way contracts to averaging 10.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.3 blocks as starting center.
It’s so nasty all the NEGATIVE things I’m seeing people say about Jaylen Brown!!! I don’t care how yall talk about bros game, it’s all opinion based anyway! Please stay away from talking about the PERSON and his character!!!! He’s real as they come! Don’t get it twisted people
I was 16 when Jaylen got drafted and I’m 26 now. Through the best and worst moments of my young adult life I could turn on the TV and count on #7 to absolutely detonate on someone at the rim.
Watching him grow from a promising prospect, to a rising star, to an All Star/All-NBA talent was *extremely* cool.
It was 10 amazing, frustrating, exciting, ugly, beautiful, disappointing, fulfilling years. Not always perfect, but it wasn’t supposed to be.
That ring in ‘24 brought a perfect closure to the story for me even if it didn’t quite end there.
I feel some sadness with the end of an era.. but not dread. I enjoyed this journey thoroughly and didn’t take it for granted.
Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum in Boston:
9 seasons
620 total games
332-167 in regular season (.665 win pct.)
73-48 in playoffs (.603 win pct.)
1 NBA championship
2 Eastern Conference titles
5 Eastern Conference Finals appearances
16 playoff series wins
Jaylen Brown was the third overall pick in 2016 and was booed on draft night. He was benched during the Kyrie/Hayward era, and signed a contract extension nobody believed he deserved. He proceeded to improve every. single. season. and eventually help the Celtics raise Banner 18, all while doing absolutely NOTHING wrong.
Never controversial. Never an issue off the court. He always played hard and never complained. Boston just lost one of the greatest players to wear a Celtics jersey. It’s a guarantee his jersey will be hanging in the rafters one day.
What a run 7...
Went to war for the city, sacrificed when needed, and raised 18.
Gave back to the community and invested in the youth.
Best of the best.
This one is going to take some time...💔☘️
