“It may be that when we no longer know what to do, we have come to our real work
and that when we no longer know which way to go, we have begun our real journey." - Wendell Berry
On this MLK Day, we remember that injustice is never isolated. What happens to one community shapes us all. Justice is not about picking sides, it’s about protecting human dignity.
May we have courage to see clearly, the humility to listen deeply, and the love to act faithfully.
Praying for all our students, families, teachers, and staff on the first day back to school!!!
May it be a great and safe beginning to the new semester.
“Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife.” — Prov. 17:1
Especially if it’s stuffed crust
What if we chased peace more than wealth?
Wholeness before success?
May you have peace today;
deep, quiet peace.
And may it be more than enough
Two Questions to Ignite Your Spiritual Life
1. Where did I notice God today?
2. Where did I resist God today?
Ask them slowly.
Ask them honestly.
Ask them patiently.
Over time, your relationship with God will begin to deepen and change
You can do today with God or you can do today with God.
The only difference is whether you choose to be aware of the love, grace, and presence already surrounding you.
Do not give up.
Do not grow weary.
Light is most needed when the night is darkest.
You are that light.
Jesus said, “You are the light of the world” (Mat 5:14).
You are alive in this moment, to shine, bring hope, and to remind the world that darkness does not win.
In the beginning, the earth was
formless
empty
dark.
But the Spirit of God was
hovering
waiting
brooding
and ready to bring life.
If that’s what the Spirit can do with the world,
imagine what it can do in you.
Shepherds lead where kings cannot -- to freedom.
Moses not Pharaoh
David not Saul
Jesus not Herod
Kings can order us what to do but only Shepherds can take us to our promise land.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me – Isa 61:1
To anoint means to set apart
as a sign “This belongs to God.”
You are chosen not for comfort but calling, not for applause but purpose
The Spirit that anointed kings prophets and Christ rests on us all.
I thought I was lazy for not fixing the washer.
The $300 repair quote revealed the truth:
I’m not lazy. I’m cheap.
Currently earning my YouTube degree in appliance repair.
Following Christ:
may not bring ease, but it brings peace.
not power, but humility.
not wealth, but generosity.
The first can be lost in a moment.
The second endures forever.
Our true treasure is not what we have, but who we are becoming in Christ.
We all carry names that shape us — labels others gave, names we accepted.
But Jesus is in the business of renaming.
Simon became Peter.
Saul became Paul.
The shamed woman became Daughter.
The thief became Friend.
What new name might Jesus be speaking over you today?
