Firstly, I was 5.
Secondly, it led to a schism in the governing party, just look at the scathing speeches led by government ministers Clare Short and Robin Cook.

2) Political pressure isn’t achieved through the actions of one, but influential individuals denouncing acts of genocide undertaken by their own country does do some good.

@MatthewLeGod If my country was doing the things Israel were doing, and I had a platform playing for one of the greatest football clubs in the world (Bayern Munich) I’d like to think I’d use it to denounce it.

By definition being complicit is having the ability to do something but not acting.

@SaintChalky This is more important than who we’ve got between the sticks. And unfortunately this fella has not used his platform to denounce this, so similarly to how the IOC have denounced Russia post-Ukraine I believe we should do similarly and not allow someone at our club who’s complicit

Not quite the ‘gotcha’ you intended, and rather than engaging in whataboutery it’d be better to question one’s integrity. A genocide is taking place……
