https://t.co/K3Qn3z9Tbq CDKL5 is an essential kinase in the brain, and mutations in the CDKL5 gene cause a devastating childhood epilepsy condition, called CDKL5 Deficiency Disorder (CDD).
At the end of a challenging year, in collaboration with Tamar Harel, Naama Elephant, @bengoult, we found a #Talin 1 mutation that is genetically associated with #SCLS and affects#endothelial #permeability linking #cell- #ECM adhesion to #adherens Junction https://t.co/7UD90TpMdJ
*Fully funded PhD position available in the lab*
We will use structural proteomics to map the mechanosensitive interactions of talin in dendritic spines and how they change during long term potentiation.
Please RT, and email/message for details

"Adhere2 will follow the same format as Adhere1. There will be no invited speakers, except for the plenary speaker, supported by EMBO. Instead, Adhere2 will determine its own content based on contributions from those who attend."
This model worked great :)
Look at the amazing speaker list for Adhere2 next September!
This is going to be an excellent meeting, in beautiful Zadar, Croatia.

Very excited to share our new paper on Talin binding to Amyloid Precursor Protein indicating a new way to think about Alzheimer's Disease.
It has the most provocative discussion section we have ever written :)

Great work by Charles Ellis, Natasha Ward, Matthew Rice and Neil Ball, with excellent collaboration for the cellular neuroscience work by Pauline Walle, Chloe Najdek, Deverim Kilinc, Jean-Charles Lambert and Julien Chapuis at Institut Pasteur de Lille.
Press release on our new paper linking talin to amyloid precursor protein (mis)processing indicating that there is a mechanical basis of Alzheimer's disease. https://t.co/ARWGi3fH99 @LivUniResearch@UniKent@PasteurLille
