@EricJDirksen This was in response to someone posting who has not posted in two years (ironically enough after synod in that case as well), but I also have a post or two in mind.
@Phlebas_ When I say "This is part of our Reformed Tradition" I'm using that to describe the collection of our theology, understanding of Scripture, worship practices, and the whole of the way we follow God.
I think other people hear "this is just something we've always done"
@roddysteves@EricJDirksen I unfortunately don't. A brief search turns up this background from Scott Clark (https://t.co/kIuWI03iuH) which contains some references to the connection you're drawing, but you might need to do your own research.
"I answer, that faith is never so absolutely perfect in the saints as to prevent the occurrence of many doubts." - John Calvin in his commentary on Genesis 24:21
@jeremy_engbers@AleahMarsden@EricJDirksen There was some good responses to a Network post about flags in churches that might be helpful for you (I may remember it because I wrote a feisty comment). https://t.co/12BCZ7ABS5
@Phlebas_@JoelRenkema I think Joel is implying that if you need to talk through stuff it's better for everyone if you just do it with one person instead of two hundred.
@JoelRenkema Having watched these for a little while, I would actually support turning comments off on the denominations social media channels. There is hardly any fruit from having them on.
