@rywig @DylPar252 That’s one of the points! The civil rights movement (and the nominal participation of white Protestants) was what pushed suburbanites to create other means of creating social credit and belonging.
White supremacy was more alluring than Jesus.

@Thom1st We voted on our final round of disaffiliations before our in-person AC and asked those leaving to prayerfully consider not coming. Some did and voted - but
1) those small # wouldn’t have made any difference on the voting
2) we were mostly just baffled at why they were there

By my understanding a centrist takes a position in the middle and makes space for disagreements in favor of a larger center.

How can a breakaway movement be called centrist?

@JohnMeunier Our conference is a still quite recent merger. The silos are mostly geographical.
