While Ukrainian athlete who honor his fallen teammates face ban, Russian lugers Pavel Repilov and Daria Olesik were allowed to compete under a “neutral” flag after openly promoting a company that co-produces the very drones killing Ukrainians.
The company, Energon LLC, is under strict international sanctions. Yet these athletes compete freely.
@iocmedia hypocrites.
While the world watches on, russian drones and missiles are dismantling the remaining pieces of Ukraine's energy system. Last night, it fired 40 missiles and 400 drones against us, destroying substations, transmission lines and power plants.
Two DTEK power stations were badly hit and we are assessing the damage now. With temperatures dropping to -20C (-4F) by Monday, their objective is obvious: to maximise human suffering. If we don't get more air defence ammunition and stronger diplomatic support soon, Ukraine's energy crisis will quickly turn into a humanitarian crisis.
russia struck DTEK thermal power plants across Ukraine today – the 10th mass attack on the energy company's facilities since October. Since Feb 2022, DTEK stations have been hit 220+ times, killing 4 workers and wounding 59.
In Kyiv, temperatures are expected to fall to – 11C by Friday.
russian attacks on our energy infrastructure continue.
But in neighbourhoods across the city, residents and business arrive with warm drinks and food for DTEK crews working around the clock to restore power.
CEO @TimchenkoMaxim outlines DTEK’s focus in Davos:
1. Securing urgent support for Ukraine's energy system.
2. Working with global peers to strengthen European infrastructure in an era of global energy insecurity.

@hedleybennett said my order was “lost” in transit & now their customer service is completely MIA. Can I have an update on replacement or refund please?
In an interview with the @BBCWorld and @bealejonathan, our CEO @TimchenkoMaxim speaks candidly about what it means to keep Ukraine powered as russia steps up its attacks on the energy system.
Power stations have been hit every few days – sometimes by waves of drones, cruise and ballistic missiles. Restoring electricity is becoming harder by the week.
But the work continues, even when the circumstances make it hard for our workers to begin repair. Why? Because millions of Ukrainian families depend on the power system. Because giving up is not an option.

DTEK CEO @TimchenkoMaxim on our first LNG shipment from the US:
“The arrival of this LNG cargo is a clear signal of DTEK’s determination to play its part in strengthening Ukraine and Europe’s energy security. Cargoes like this are not only providing the region with a flexible and secure source of power, but are further eroding russia’s influence over our energy system. We are very grateful to the United States for the strategic contribution it is making to Europe’s energy security with such shipments.”

⚡️Three days to go! This Saturday, Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World @Usykaa faces Tyson Fury in the rematch of the century. In May, he launched our #FightForLight campaign, drawing global attention to the round-the-clock battle to keep the lights on in Ukraine amid relentless russian attacks.

Ah, @SW_Help playing a blinder this morning with 2 trains in a row cancelled from Whitton station to Waterloo, leaving a 90 min gap between trains 👏🏽. Builds on a pattern of increasing complaints from constituents recently of delays and cancellations 😬.
russia has resumed its attacks against us this morning. Severe damage to Ukraine’s energy system, including to DTEK power stations. These attacks again highlight Ukraine’s need for additional air defence systems from our allies to prevent more destruction. The supply of power to millions this winter depends upon it.

Encouraging news from the NATO summit overnight: more air defence systems are heading to Ukraine. For the past four months, russia has rained down missiles on our power stations, destroying half the country’s energy system.
As I told @JustinOnWeb on this morning’s Today programme, air defence is critical to ending this cycle of destruction. So too is the massive task of rebuilding of our power stations before winter and expanding Europe’s electricity imports to the country. Thank you to everyone who stands with us in our #FightForLight.

Yesterday, @dtek_group directed its emergency response teams to provide all possible assistance to the #Okhmatdyt children’s hospital in Kyiv after it was hit by russian missiles. As we speak, our people on the ground are installing temporary substations to return power and help the relief operation.
The determination of these crews, and every rescue worker across the country, is the perfect demonstration of why Ukraine will win this war. Our resolve remains strong. We will keep restoring light to the people of Ukraine, whatever evil russia perpetrates against us.

russia's relentless attacks aim to cripple Ukraine's energy system. At the Ukrainian Recovery Conference in Berlin, we rallied partners to move the world from words to action. As Ukraine braces for the hardest winter yet, we must work together to win this #FightForLight.
