Then a few years ago, I got my hands on SPRAWLBALL. It was such a fun book and it reinvigorated my drive to work on spatial analysis of shooting in Philippine basketball as the topic for my master's thesis (which, thankfully, I was able to finish).

I think it was around 2012 when I first read CourtVision—Dr. @kirkgoldsberry's now seminal work on visual and spatial analytics of shooting in the NBA. That paper became the inspiration for my undergrad thesis.

Could've installed Linux but the user is probably more familiar with Windows so I installed that instead (+ the laptop already had a valid Win10 license in the motherboard).

Specs are alright for a 6+ year old laptop. Intel i5 7200U CPU, Nvidia 940MX GPU, 12GB of RAM. Repasted the board, replaced the battery and keyboard, and added a new SSD.
