It’s vital that everyone in Wales has their say about the changes to the GDS contract.
It’s YOUR service, fight for it…we are
These proposals will see a completely new way of working and the unintended consequences could see access fall off a cliff.
GDPs become GDPs because they like the idea of the long term dental team/patient relationship. We want to see your children grow up and bring their children to see us.
We see more of some of our patients than we do some members of our own families! It really isn’t that we don’t care or we are just “chasing money”
We are the ones who will have to look our long term patients (the one who we have looked after and supported regularly to get them into a relatively healthy position) in the eye and say “I’m sorry, you’re stable today, you can’t come here as a NHS patient anymore”

Thanks to our three volunteer speakers on behalf of the BSDHT at #DentistryShow2025 on Saturday 16 May:
🔹James Hyde spoke about personalised care plans with a focus on risks and best options,
🔹Ben Marriott spoke about trans awareness/inclusivity and the role within dentistry and lastly
🔹Leon Bassi closed the event on paediatric dentistry with the latest evidence by SDCEP on caries management in primary teeth and again focusing on the importance of personalised care plans.

Today on #IDAHOBIT2025, we stand with LGBTQIA+ dental practitioners, students, and colleagues across Australia.
IDAHOBIT is a reminder of the need for safe, inclusive and respectful spaces in every workplace and community — including dental settings.
